Good Lord, have there been so many updates already?! I haven’t been able to catch up with this board lately but thank you for providing all these pieces of information!

It’s quite interesting that eight characters qualify as siblings but I fear that there will be quite a number of disappointed fans if there isn't already a marriage option for some of them. I for my part would find the change from “sibling” to marriage candidate awkward and kind of creepy but to each his own. So I would welcome it if the avatar and these eight characters remain siblings since I've always loved family relationships in the FE series and found Awakening to be lacking in that regard (if I rember correctly the only characters with siblings were

Hooray for the return of casual mode! Also I don’t mind the “phoenix-mode” as well since it can make it easier for newcomers while those who don’t plan on using it can simply ignore it since no one forces you to use that feature. *shrug*
The game having 9 save slots is also great news to me as it will make unlocking conversations easier and provide more marriage possibilities.
Furthermore I’m looking forward to seeing all the avatar customization options (the ones in the scan look great so far!) but I really like the default avatar design as well and might end up using one of them for the first playthrough.
As for the Aqua theory it would be interesting and intriguing if it was true but we’ll see…

However I guess I won’t be sticking around in this topic anymore even though I would like to help you gathering pieces of information and know more about the game as it won’t be coming out in EU/US till 2016 but I simply don’t want to spoil myself too much… ugh this is quite the dilemma but I’ll say goodbye for now! >_<

Haha, whoops, looking back I honestly do not know I could have read that as ア. If anything the first symbol looks like it could be イ, but it also looks like there's a stroke at the bottom, a possible dust particle or shine, so I see it more as エ, you are correct. Erufi, Elfy? I can wait until there's a clearer picture.

Doing some research, Elfy and Elfi are actual names, and girls names at that. It is a short form of Elfriede which means strength, and it would be fitting, I think.

Elfy is pretty cute! Hopefully we'll get the full scan by tomorrow so we can look at some of the closer details. Apparently there's an interview in there too which should be interesting.

Looks like Hinoka really is your sister; there goes my wooing plans XD. Jokes aside, I find it interesting that she started training as a Pegasus Knight right after Kamui gets kidnapped. That's kind of heart-breaking when you think about it; there's a chance she started training because she felt some type of guilt about her inability to protect Kamui from being kidnapped or was holding onto some vain hope that she could find him despite the odds being low. If that doesn't say 'devoted big sister', I don't know what does.

Something about Camilla gave me that 'protective older sister vibe', so learning she's like that doesn't surprise me. Me and a friend even joked that the animated scene is actual her intro and she walking like that toward someone who has momentarily captured Kamui, saying something along the lines of 'so you're the one who has the death wish'.

Gotta say, hearing about your siblings reminded me how much it's going to suck when I have to choose a side. But at least we now know who our siblings are, so no more arguments about who is related with who.

Very good point. Maybe it ties in with the Ryouma-looking guy who gets arrowed in the one trailer? That might have happened, and then Garon took the kid afterwards. Dunno.

Completely agreed. Hinoka looking so happy (well, crying but happy) in that one part of the trailer makes a looot of sense now, especially if she devoted herself in search/training because of what happened with Kamui. And Camilla sounds like an awesome older sister type. I'm actually really dreading that split off decision even more now ;_; everyone sounds like they all really value you as family, and it's just saaaad.


@Giobat - That's where I am right now. I personally don't think marriage is going to be S-supporting this time around, and it might mean more of just getting into a relationship with said person, leaving the individual endings for the marriage stuff, which I think would work a lot better. The game isn't centered around kids and stuff like the previous game, so I think it would be a great compromise.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm worried about too when it comes to all of the 'siblings'. I'm okay with them just being siblings with Kamui, although it's a bit disappointing, but compared to Awakening we really do need some more differing supports instead of just romantic ones. Although I guess we'd get that even with Kamui not necessarily being a sibling. Will also be really interesting to see the family dynamics though, especially between all of the siblings on each of the sides.

Tbh it's kind of on me for getting excited before more information came out on them anyways. They were already said to have all been siblings in the recent trailers, so I probably should have actually taken it as face value. Ah well. If they are still able to be romanced or whatever because of a "I'm not really related to you!" twist, I dunno if I'd even go for any of them at this point. I guess it just depends on if it's done well, but most of the time it comes off as kinda gross imo so I'd really rather not. Guess we'll see. I'd rather them as just siblings at this point, especially after reading those profiles.

The best news of the day is by faaaaar the 9 save slots. Will be awesome to be able to mess around on so many different files!

I think I'm going to go casual/normal or casual/hard for my Japanese files, and then go harder when it comes out in NA.

I kinda like how the old Fire Emblems handed the supports that led to endings. A good chunk of them even ended up with them not being together at all. I can specifically remember both (FE7 spoilers)

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I didn't like the fact that in Awakening it was basically lovers or nothing (makes sense though because the kids were a big draw of the game). I like shipping as much as the next person, but I'd really rather them use a "less is more" mindset when it comes to lover supports/endings. What little friendship supports we had in Awakening (Chrom/Fred, Libra/Virion, etc) were so awesome. Need more of those imo, especially between the opposite « Chicken Hugging ».

While I'm happy that their official profiles are out and there's no mention of certain recently popular anime traits that I feared some of them having, I am very disappointed that it seems as if the marriage mechanic isn't coming back.

I mean, it says that Camilla is overly protective of Kamui and that Elise loves you a lot, doesn't it? What about for us female players? Do Marx and Leon have a soft spot for you too? If I can't marry them, at least I want them to be caring of me dammit! But seriously, I was really looking forward to marrying Leon!

Don't be too disappointed yet! With Awakening, the marriage feature was only announced about 2 weeks before the game was released. If it's anything like Awakening pre-release info, then what they'll do is detail stuff on a few characters and talk about battle mechanics each week, then eventually getting around to stuff like what supports entail closer to launch. So around mid-June if they haven't announced any of it, then we can probably assume it's not in the game.

Man that's a lot of new information, who plans on the difficulty for their games? (for me hoshido = casual normal/hard, Nohr = phoenix hard/lunatic)

Also phoenix sounds nice if you're playing for Nohr and don't have time or skill to try repeatedly try to succeed. I'm probably going to get the DLC's when this game comes out (if the limited version isn't sent over to the west and/or I don't preorder in time) after hearing this news.

Yeah lol. Kamui looks nothing like the Hoshido people, and Aqua looks nothing like the Nohrians. There's a twist in there somewhere!

But at least this shows that Hoshido isn't above getting their own prisoner of war, which makes me happy (this sounds horrible I know xD;) but it means that maybe Hoshido won't be so "ideal" as some of the early information would lead to believe, which is great. Sounds like there's going to be a lot of interesting politics in the game.

Yeah, if there are romantic S-supports I'm thinking that it'll probably be for all of the units that aren't 'family'. The maids, Tsubaki, Erufi (gal with the pink armor), etc. Guess it'll just depend. Seems like this game is more focused on the concept of 'family' and 'loyalty' which is perfectly fine. It's not like they'll take out romance completely (there was always romance in supports and stuff in the earlier games, but it was more subtle and usually just deal with the endings), especially after Awakening and how popular it was. So I'm not particularly worried, but I am really curious like you said on how it's going to work. We probably won't know until very close to release in any case.

Kinda funny thinking about all the waifu stuff that was going around in the beginning, and now everyone's related to you in some way, hehe.

To be fair, Camilla doesn't look much like her siblings (besides her style of clothes, which Aqua isn't going to have cause she's currently residing in Hoshido) with her purple hair and I wouldn't count Kamui, cause it's currently in the default style and can be manipulated to look more/less like the Hoshidos aaaand...

spoilers for FE:A Not counting out the "you aren't related to anyone" theory, buuut I wouldn't knock down the potential that you are in fact related to the Hoshidos, either.

Eeee this all looks so good! I am extremely excited about the option of hair ornaments for a reason I can't quite fathom. I'm also kind of glad about phoenix option, in that I will do my best to play Nohr on Casual/Normal but if I can't even do that there's still another option (I am...really pretty bad at tactics.) I'm flailing over which side to play first now. I was convinced I would do Hoshido first but now the pull of Nohr grows ever stronger.

I'm also happy about sibling supports, especially since they could be extra meaningful in this game.

I'm stuck in that I really want to find out more and also really don't want to be spoiled too much. Hmmmm.

I'm super excited over hair ornaments too! Sucks that males don't have the option for any.

Going by the screenshots, it shows we have at least 6 face choices per height (compared to Awakening's 5) and at least 27 hair colors compared to FE:A's 20, so that's nice!
