Does anyone know how to get down and colour it?

Nintendo 3DS [ Game Guide ]. JP release = Feb 2012. NA release = Oct 2012. EU release = Sept 2013

I've noticed that in the cloth maker in the maker shed you can make different cloths like red cloth and green cloth but it says that you need down of the same colour. I have no idea how to get down or colour it so if anyone could help I would be very grateful.

To get coloured down, you can hit the big elder trees in the forest with your hammer, travel to the ancient ruins through the Travel Agency, or trade for them at Sandra's stall or through wifi with another player. The coloured down come with their own colours, so there is no need to colour them.
