At this time, I won't be posting any more post marriage stuff; I'm going back to my original save (Winter Year 1). Most likely will end up marrying Agate again, but after seeing Licorice's first two heart events and then triggering the reverse confession. Hopefully in late Summer year 2, but that depends a lot on what kind of weather I end up with; I really want a summer anniversary, so if I can't get there in time, I might want until year 3; either that or get married in early fall and trigger pregnancy so they get born in summer (My birthday and Agate's both are in summer; hence my obsession with another summer-based event )
At the rate I'm playing though, that's gonna be a while.

I think it was stated in another thread, and I've read an article about it before... But basically, it's culture differences and just how things end up translated.

According to that link, it's common to start a serious relationship with someone by confessing your love. But quote that basically sums up the word differences:

So, I think the confusion comes from the translation and how the words are perceived in the various cultures. You might say “I love you” in English and we might say “suki” in Japanese. To us, suki can mean “love” but it isn’t the same kind of love as aishiteru, which is when you’re actually feeling love for another person. That’s why when you’re confessing your “love” for someone in Japanese, it isn’t as big of a deal because you’re saying you love them, but in the same way you might say you love a donut. So, you know, you say “love” and we say “suki” and you say “love” and we say “aishiteru.”

Hopefully the above article does explain it accurately (I think the writer is Japanese). I don't know much about the culture myself, just going off things I've read, which may not always be accurate. Also I'm not sure what words are actually used in the Japanese version of SoS, either.

It might have been best to use the word "like" in the English localization? It seems they used both like/love, because some of the flower dialogues ask if you "like" them despite the fact that they've declared their "love" in confessions already.

Ahh, yeah, that makes sense. Wish the localization team had caught it though

Lillie's New Years / pre-marriage Dialogue I really love Lillie, she's just so adorable ;d.
I know it's only pixels in a game, but I don't think I would ever have the guts to go through any of those brutal break up / failing marriage dialogue sequences on purpose. You guys that are doing that are braver than I am, or you're just that heartless (just kidding).

I just saw it. Seriously, Kamil and Licorice are SO much better this time around compared to their ToTT counterparts in my opinion. Licorice seemed so withdrawn in her work in ToTT, but in this she's more open and it's just so adorable! I wish there were three files; that's how much I like her this time around, but I believe Elise wins the second file. There's just something about her.

It's terrible; I won't be doing it again (although I think that Lillie and Agate are the worst ones to go through it for). And Lillie is definitely adorable. I wish I could have a mix of Lillie and Agate's events/dialog. That would be perfect, lol.

At this point, I'm having trouble going back to my original save. I think I'm either going to have to confess to Agate immediately, or go back to the future file and have a "Farm revival" storyline where I come out of retirement :p

These characters are so good this time around. Maybe it's because of XSeed's translations or the cast is just that good I don't know, but I hope it continues into the next game.

Summer 11 Year 2 so far. I'm getting closer to Elise's last rival event. It seems to far away! I'm trying very hard to get to Winter by Friday or hopefully earlier. I hope she's worth it. If not, guess I'll cover Licorice; it'll take a longer time since I'm not focusing on her right now.

I've edited in some more Fritz dialogue for the fishing tournament in my previous post -> http://fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic.php?p ... 1#p5214711. It's just the mc win and another piece of generic dialogue. Also, if you both happen to win the tournament, then it seems he'll only acknowledge your win. I couldn't get his victory dialogue to show up at all even though he won too :/ Anyways, I should have the wedding anniversary event with him posted either late tomorrow or Friday. Also, all the Licorice dialogue below is from my girl file (I'm at year 1 mid fall on my boy file, so she isn't unlocked yet), so it's all friendship/generic stuff. I'll be continuing to record her dialogue (just friends / generic) at festivals as I'm working on Fritz since it's different from her dating/married dialogue.

Yeah, I'm still having trouble deciding between Lillie and Agate; I'm tempted to split my file, but if I'm going to do that, I want to get as much farm development (5* seeds, conquest fields, blueprints, etc) out of the way before I split, and at the same time I am starting to feel like I really want to get married soon so I can see more of the married content

In previous games, there's usually 2-3 girls I could see going for, but none are absolutely what I want, and I have to decide which one I like most. In this one, I like Lillie and Agate so much that I *want* to go for both of them, and instead I'm having to try to decide which one I like less, and that's not working either.

I actually looked at her first two events last night, because I am strongly considering marrying before I unlock her on my main file; although I liked her first two events, she's not getting to me as much as Lillie and Agate. I could definitely see myself going for her, but not quite. If I had time to run 3 files, I would go for her as my third :-p I don't even have time for two though, lol.

I do hope someone eventually posts a bunch of her dialog (I like seeing screenshots of the event and day-to-day comments from them; I know heart events and confessions/proposals will eventually all be on youtube).

I plan to cover Licorice's reverse confession and proposal at least, she should be close to confessing since I wasn't sooo lax with her and am in late spring y3. Still haven't decided whether to marry her or Angela though (dang sis, why did you grab the second file), so marriage/dating coverage would be much appreciated.
