i just started the game few days ago and i was wounderign if theres any better way to raise cows produce level than just writting down how manny treats you gave them when and how manny are left every day... its kind of anoying that they need 7 normal and 29 CW treats to produce +1 material...

well, since they don't have to be given in any special order, you can just give them 28 normal treats at first (the amount of treats they would need to get to level 5) and after that just keep giving them the cow treats. at least that's how I've been doing it

I didn't even realize how to correctly do treats until sometime in year 2. :/ but yeah, it basically just takes a « Puppy Doodoo » ton of patience. There is no easier way to do it, sadly.

do you guys know if u can apply fertilizer to growing trees?
iwe been fertilizing 10 apple trees for like 1,5 month now, they are just about to reach their end stage and they still ask for fertilizer o.o...
also are there any crops not worth bothering with at all? i spent my first 2 months just planting fodder because it turned out most profitable growing 28 harvestable days 60 each + cow food... rest are just lame cuz u always have to buy 0.5star seeds ._.

Wished that I had thought of giving my cows 28 normal treats at the beginning. Now I'm like confused because I didn't write this info down like i should've.

Ah, you can always trade seeds, if you want 5* crops.

It's literally the opposite. You can only fertilize crops when they are growing. The exception is regrowing crops (like tomato) and trees. You still can't fertilize a regrowing crop when it is ready for harvest, but once you harvest it, you can put fertilizer on the plant as usual. With the trees, if you start with a .5* seed it will almost certainly take until after the first harvest to actually reach 5*. My first harvest of my first apple tree was 4* after fertilizing daily. I probably lost a few days' worth to storms along the way, but definitely will take more fertilizer after the first apples drop.

It's not really worth fertilizing your crops until you get the seed maker. I mean, you'll want to fertilize to win the crop festivals, but other than that it is a waste of time, in my opinion. And for paddy crops, unless you need a certain star rank for whatever reason, there is no point fertilizing them because 1 paddy crop = 1 seedling.
Once I got the seed maker, I put two soil fields on the top tier of the eastern field and would literally plant 16 different individual crops in each of the 16 squares. You can remove seeds from squares by using the hoe. Then I would fertilize those and only those, and convert the harvested crops into seeds and re-plant, and repeat until they were 5*. Then it was just a matter of planting those 5* bags repeatedly to get a lot of 5* crops. That made it really fast and easy to get a lot of crops to 5* all at once.

ty for the tip :D i still dont have any other farm land except the main farm land unlocked, i did read tho you can have 3 coops and 3 barns... i hope since the treat system is not improved later atleast milking and egg colecting, also peting animals is done easyer later? like ur child does it or you have a milking machine? because milking 30 cows and picking up 30 chickens is gona be a time killer :D eaven with my horsie :E

Later in the game, you will get blueprints for the speedy brush, speedy clippers, and speedy milker. I believe they are all won at festivals. Unfortunately the brush is the most annoying to get because you need to unlock the brown alpaca first (which takes a while...) to get the wool to make it. The speedy tools are at least 2x as fast as the regular. I didn't even bother trying to raise more than a couple animals before the speedy brush because I couldn't stand how long brushing took. Also, if the animal is at full hearts and you're not brushing to raise affection, you can skip brushing them every other day without any impact to their stress level.
