About Elise flower event

So i managed to reach winter year 2 and seen the last rival event with Elise to start dating her, but i saw the guide here and it say the first one trigger at rainy day which can't happen in winter. So i must wait until spring year 3 to trigger it? Can i give her a ring in advance? It took me forever to finish a month since i have very little spare time for playing
