Okay. So I'm having the weirdest deja vu.

This song from pikmin, the map screen, gave me such intense Rune Factory deja vu. I think Rune Factory 4.

I am absolutely positive that this was used somewhere in the Rune Factory series. Or it feels that way. Maybe it's just a very similar song, or one song from RF that's similar to the first part and another song similar to the part from 20 seconds on. I just don't know, but it's really frustrating.

Does anyone know if this song was ever used in any Rune Factory, or if there's a similar song (and maybe a link to it)?

I don't believe it has the same song. It does have very similar instrumentation and themes, and the sort of light-hearted feel that all the upbeat RF and HM songs have.

I'm playing RF4 atm and going through the list of previous game music for fun, and I haven't heard anything like this. It is also very similar to other Pikmin games. I guess that's obvious but it could be a memory triggered relating to another pikmin when you were playing RF or something.

Also is that the first Pikmin game? I can't tell.

The mordents in the Pikmin track from the beginning to about 0:25 are pretty similar to the opening scene's background track of Tides of Destiny, to me:


[0:19-0:37]

But 0:24-0:35 of the Pikmin track (the lower chord progression) does sound to me like something from one of the handhelds (1-3). I would say it sounds slightly similar to the RF3 wedding track, but it doesn't really ( [0:19-0:30]). That may just be because I've listened to the RF3 wedding theme recently, lol.
