Opinions on the Marriage Candidates

Greetings to all~ I have been playing this for quite a long time and just got rather curious since different people have different opinions on the each of the marriage candidates. What do you think of them? Here's my opinions of them. ^^ (I'm playing as a girl since I am one.)

Bachelors:

Let's have a fishlicious meal after the catch~
Denny- He's really a wonderful, friendly guy and never fail to make me feel pleasant when talking to him. He's definitely one of my top three choices to marry-top 2, to be precise. ^^

Just the way you are~
Elliot- As the shy, sweet guy, he's really trying to be better. It's fine if he stay as he is, to me though. He's really very lovable as well. Top 3. ^^

Nice to meet you!
Mark- Personally, I'm not sure whether I should like the fact that he accepts all gifts.. Yes, I'll be easier to raise FP and so but.. Asides being so nice, he's definitely a great friend.

Next order, Chef!
Pierre- His passion for cooking is truly respectable. It's understandable that he may be a little child-like but wait, who doesn't want a chef as a great friend or even a husband? (Despite the fact that after marriage, every guy [ladies as well] turned out to have attend Chef Pierre's How-to-Cook-Lunch for your spouse lessons)

Way of a Warrior!
Shea- Absolutely a skilled and adorable hunter, his grammar never fails to hunt a slice of humor to brighten up the day. Shea's humor..We happy.. *musical note*

Beauty is in the eye of the Prince~
Will- Formal and gentlemanly, he is indeed loved by many. Personally, he's really a humble and polite young prince. It's good that he pledge his loyalty and love but it can be a little too exaggerating at times. (No offense, my Ladies.)

Howdy, little Tsundere~
Vaughn- Although he can be cold and mean at times, but he's really wonderful when you get to know him better. (Especially after marriage.) It really takes time if you want to woo him but really, just seeing this cowboy smile after giving him a gift or when he opens up, it's all worthwhile. Personally, he's the bachelor I prefer most, my top choice for marriage I would say. ^^

Bachelorettes:

Little Miss Goddess Loyal Fan #1!
Alisa- Well..What can I say.. It's all stated, she's nice but then, she's all about the Goddess. Please, cut down a bit on the Goddess and you'll be wonderful.

Nice to meet you!
Chelsea- It's mainly almost the same as Mark but Chelsea, you have a beautiful name.

Said no more counting horses, I'll be counting sheep~
Julia- A fine lady who's willing to help out her mother seems really dependable..

But Miss Heart-breaker.. Why do you have to treat me so unpleasantly after your marriage with Elliot?..

Switch on to the Idol Channel!
Lanna- Definitely one of my favorite girls, she's really cute and nice. It's wonderful that an idol is not too demanding in terms of gifts and not too proud in terms of attitude.

My dream is too be an infinite-naire!
Lily- First thing first, she really look rather charming but my apologizes, how much did you spent on your clothing and accessories? Besides the fact that her gifts are difficult, other than that, she's a fine lady whom I won't mind.

Nothing wrong with being a Tomboy!
Natalie- As tomboy-ish as she might be, she is really sweet and cute at times. I find her being my first favorite girl.

A book a day, keeps the tough work away!
Sabrina- Daughter of the rich father, she really is a typical stereotype of a gentle girl. I couldn't explain why but sometimes, I really don't like her. But well, she's still a wonderful choice anyone intend to marry her.

All hail the mighty Witch!
Witch Princess- I like her straightforward attitude sometimes and how she isn't afraid to brace a fight. I salute!

It's sure is long, thanks for reading and I hope to know your opinions. Overall, all the marriage candidates have a variety of personality and attitude to choose from, which is good. (But I'm always stuck between Denny and Vaughn..) For all those playing, enjoy!

It was interesting to read your opinions so I’ll return the favour and list mine as well.
(Though it has been a few years since I last played SI so it could be that my memories aren’t very accurate and that my opinions on the bachelor/ettes would change if I started a playthrough now.)
Anyway I’ll give short summary on each bachelor/ette from what I remember:

Alisa
She is utterly adorable!
I wanted to marry her in one of my files but it soon turned out that you can’t marry her in SI either. >_< (Also if I ever buy and play Tales of two Towns I’ll make sure to marry her even though you can’t have kids with her – I usually stop playing shortly after marriage in the HM games so that isn’t a huge issue.)

Chelsea
-> Same as Mark.

Julia
When I first saw her I thought that she was going to be the bossy type. Luckily it turned out that she isn’t anything like that as she is a very caring person. I really like that she is fond of animals and that she takes her duties seriously. She ended up being a favourite of mine as well.

Lanna
One of my favourite bachelorettes. She is cute but not too girly and seems to be still down-to-earth despite being a “star”. She is not arrogant and tries her best to improve her singing in order to give a worthy comeback.

Lily
I really like her “eastern” design and that she has a determined character.
She also seems to be quite tough and experienced since she is a treasure hunter, which is great. I find her to be the most mature out of the bachelorettes but if I recall correctly there was an event where a stuffed panda turned out to be one of her most cherished possessions implying that she also has a “girly” side. The only thing I don’t like about her is that raising her heart level can be tedious as she mainly likes expensive gifts which can only be found in the deeper mine levels…
(By the way, I like the irony that, regarding rival couples, she gets paired with Will who isn’t fond of expensive things at all.)

Natalie
Well she is quite the opposite from her brother and also rather “boyish” but that doesn’t mean that she can’t be girly and adorable as well.
Though I like her teasing attitude it is also sad that it can be considered as one of the reasons her brother has developed complexes…

Sabrina
She is my least favourite bachelorette but I don’t dislike her. It’s just that she is a tiny little bit bland next to the other bachelorettes and a bit too naïve and sheltered for my taste. Though she seems to be a bookworm so that’s a plus.

W. Princess
She definitely is a quite amusing lady who (if I’m not mistaken) likes to experiment with her magic, which often results in funny situations. Unfortunately I can’t remember much more about her as I always stopped playing shortly after raising her island…

Denny
First I didn’t pay much attention to his character but after raising his heart levels he really grew on me. His positive personality is enjoyable and I’m glad his positivity is not exaggerated as he is not always overly cheerful. In addition it is remarkable that he could keep his positivity despite

loosing his parents at young age.

He is also the type of guy to hang out with and last but not least I find his bird kind of cute.

Elliot
He might not be the definition of manliness but at east he tries his best at becoming more self-confident. It is also respectable that he helps his family out whenever he can. He falls into the sweetheart category.

Mark
He is one of my favourite bachelors as well, mostly because I find him to be a good match for Chelsea since they are both farmers. (It’s too bad that SI didn’t have the feature to make your spouse do the fieldwork). He is generally kind and caring but unfortunately his personality doesn’t seem to be as developed as the other bachelors. While liking everything you gift him is pleasant in terms of raising FP it takes away the potential to give him another character trait regarding his preferences.

Pierre
He is the only one that hasn’t grown on me…maybe because he can be a little too childish for my taste and that his design makes him look like he’s in his early teens too, although due to “anime-logic” this doesn’t have to be the case. Nonetheless I respect his passion for cooking and him being a skilled cook.

Shea
For me he is the cutest bachelor by far. Despite being an serious and strong warrior his way of speech and lack of knowledge make him “adorkable”. I also like the interactions between him and his foster-father Wada.

Vaughn
When I first played that game I didn’t pay much attention to him either mostly due to the fact that he stayed at the island only for two? days per week. Therefore his dialogue wouldn’t change for a long time so I missed out on his characterization. In my second playthrough I looked his preferences up on the internet
(thanks to UnoT ☺), gave him his weekly milk porridge and managed to raise his heart level very quickly. Turns out that Mr serious looking cowboy is indeed not very versed in social interaction and has a heart of gold after all. In addition I started to appreciate his calm nature even more after marrying Will in one of my files since he is quite a contrast to the latter. Besides his embarrassed face is priceless


Will
I’m a sucker for polite, gentlemanly characters so I wasn’t surprised that he would be my favourite bachelor…. most of the time - to be precise until my character marries him. I’m aware that he has always been the type of guy to compliment you but oh « Harvest Goddess » does his sweet talk reach a new level after marrying him when he makes sure to add “my angel” at the end of almost every sentence or saying something like “taste my dish filled with love” after making lunch. (I haven’t played the game in English so I don’t know if these sentences have been translated the same way in Spanish, French and English etc.
Thus maybe Wills’ lines were made less creepy in the English version.)
Despite disliking sweet talk in general I can tolerate it to a certain extent but those lines were really too much. Anyway, except for the after-marriage issue he is charming and surprisingly laid back in spite of his noble birth.
