Meeting her at first, Bronze appears to be quiet, shy, and a little awkward. As you get to know her, you realize that she can be quite bubbly.
Sweet and kind, Bronze is independent and is genuinely a soft-hearted person and a deep thinker. She generally likes to keep to herself but she is always approachable and willing to lend a hand where need be.

"Well, that's it. I'm finally an adult."

The Coming of Age ceremony was over.

Bronze stood in the crowd, surrounded by her friends that she knew throughout grade school and in to high school. Bittersweet sentiment was in the air with abundance as old friends stood with each other, marveling at how they've grown up and, almost in fear, wondering where all the time went. Amidst all the smiles, pictures and tear-felt goodbyes and best wishes, Bronze knew that this was a turning point in all their lives... that this very well could be the last time they stand side-by-side like this. The last time where they could hear each other laugh and tease each other so freely.

"Hey, you!" Her friend Hotaru playfully jabbed her ribs with her elbow. "Stop sulking over there and come join us in the picture!!"
"You're right. Let's go." Bronze smiled sheepishly, slightly dazed from being pulled out of her thoughts so abruptly.
Hotaru beamed as she took Bronze by the elbow, pulling her into the group for one last photo together.

"Everything after this point," Bronze thought to herself as she posed for the picture, " is uncertain."

Rain pattered softly against the window.
Bronze looked out at the earl-grey world from her apartment as she stirred her coffee.

"Everything after this point is uncertain."

Her own thoughts from a month ago resonated in her mind.
"It's always this same thought," she thought to herself, slightly annoyed.

She was right. Everything after the Coming of Age ceremony was uncertain.
For a while, it was exhilarating. The possibilities were endless; she could go anywhere, do whatever she wanted. She could see the world as it was and finally have her chance of making something great of herself. She would stay awake until the early hours of the morning dreaming with such anticipation of what the future could be like that she could nearly feel it, almost taste it.

Then almost in a snap of a finger all of the dreams she thought of about the future turned into a nightmare. She could do whatever she wished, but would that bring her lasting happiness? She could see the world, but what if the world was as cruel as she heard it to be? What if she wanted to make something grand of herself- what if she didn't succeed? The uncertainty and the risks of crippling failure haunted her from sunrise to sundown.

The thought of failure - of being a failure- absolutely terrified her.

She took a sip of her coffee and let out a long weary sigh. As she moved to rest her head on the window, she tried to remember the last time she got any decent sleep.
Bronze closed her eyes and silenced her mind. And for a while, everything was quiet. Only the sound of dancing raindrops kept time passing.

After a period of silence, she looked at the picture her friends took at the Coming of Age ceremony. She gazed fondly at each of her friend's faces and she suddenly missed them all. Hotaru went to school to become a nurse, Naoko moved to be with her boyfriend in a different city and Miyuki went abroad to go to a trade school. It was amazing how fast their tight-knit group scattered away from each other, scattering almost like autumn leaves in a gale storm.

"But what am I going to do?" Bronze thought to herself as she finished her coffee.

She went to set her coffee cup down on the table in front of her when she noticed a bold headline glare up at her in big, bold letters:
"Apply to be a farmer today!!"

"Huh, that's weird." she said aloud as she dug the flier out from under a pile of mail. "I don't remember seeing this before..." her words trailed off as she read the flyer.
Bronze read the flyer two, three, maybe even five times before she finally understood what she was reading. Not because she was illiterate or couldn't comprehend what was written but because every time she read a portion of the flyer, thoughts and images of a beautiful scenic mountain flooded her mind. She could see the green brilliance of the proud mountain forest, she could hear the rushing of the wild sapphire river and she could smell the golden sunshine on the lush swaying mountain grass.

Whether it be from finding courage at the bottom of her coffee cup or by some magical force or bewitchment, Bronze instantly knew that this -this flyer- was the only thing she needed. Wherever this place was, she had to go there. She felt the dream-like mountain calling her as she hurriedly stuffed her suitcase with the sturdiest work clothes she could find. Emptying her hard-earned savings into her rain coat's pockets, she rushed out the door with flyer and suitcase in hand towards the train station.

Hearing her apartment door slam behind her, she once again knew that everything beyond this point was uncertain.


And it excited her.

Samantha moved to Oak Tree Town hoping to start a farm and prosper in the country. She sends some of her profits from her farm to her mother in the city along with letters with all of the details of her new life.

(She's transgender because I had to choose a boy to be able to date a girl.)

Thanks! I like your character as well. It's really nice seeing everyone's characters, I'm glad you made this topic. I was actually kind of worried that I'd get negative responses to her being transgender because a lot of people aren't accepting of people like that, but I haven't gotten anyone complaining yet.
