Ushi No Tane Forum

I have been trying for several days (in game) to catch a salmon for Mana and all I've been catching are Masu Trouts, Chubs, and Branches. I've looked at other forums and they gave all of the different places you can stand in order to catch a Salmon, that you don't have to charge your rod, etc. but I still can't catch a Salmon. Is there a specific time during the day that they're easier to catch or should I just keep trying? I didn't know if anyone might know of an easier way to try and catch these guys. I know I've caught them before in my previous files, but I decided to start over and it's driving me crazy. I appreciate any advice.

I don't know about specific times, but I usually spend a day or two fishing on the bridge at the very entrance of the fourth screen of Messina Valley early on. It's the screen where Buffamoos spawn. If I get Salmon from that (and I get one or two, on average) I hoard that for Mana's request. They do seem pretty rare, so you might just be getting unlucky.

Took me HOURS to find them. But I've found them on my 1st try at the very end of the bridge where you do the boss fight (in the Fall Dungeon, the Valley), to the right side. It was morning time when I did it (Summer Season). Fishing Skill under Lv.30.

When attempting to catch a 2nd Salmon before heading back, it took quite a while though.
