Hello people, im new to games like Rune Factory and harvest moon and i am terribly sorry if my questions are redundant.

By the first day of winter i finish arc 1, my monster friendship level are well over 10 by now so i have been trying to put my farm on auto-pilot and have the monster do the farming while i focus on finding material in dungeon and trying to find events while making friends with other characther.

I have

4 chicken (3 are farming)
4 sheeps (3 are Farming)
4 cow

All of them are only planting turnips... or sometime a random plant like spinach or a flower....

I tried giving them 24 seeds of spinach, corns etc they dont seem to be planting them..
I tried having 30k gold to see if they would plant different plant... i had mixed success???? spinach but mostly turnip...
I tried waiting all day to see if there is a special moment to give them the order to have them plant a specific vegetable.. to no avail...


Q:
Is it possible to direct monster into planting a specific vegetable? if yes how??
Is there a monster level required? (or is there a max friendship lvl and should i stop bothering past lvl 10??)
Why does Doug friendship lvl does not go over 3??? ( i cannot finish a request order of having all characters over 5 and i got it pretty early it seem strange)

Hello I really never trusted my animals to farm in rune factory after they didn't do it the first time I tried.I can answer your question about Doug though you will not be able to raise his friendship level above three until after the third story arc sorry may not be spelled right.I'm new to the forum but not to the games.I know all of the story arcs are described on here I could describe them but my tablet will not let me make a spoiler tag.After the third arc you will be able to do the raise everybody's friendship request.Doug really likes rice recipes so those will raise his friendship level the fastest.Hope this helped.

I never used animals for farming. It's easier and more profitable to do it myself.

Doug's friendship is, unfortunately, locked to that level until after you complete arc 2. And believe me, you'll know when arc 2 begins. You're just going to have to let that request sit for a while.

That's kinda strange...perhaps your game just wants turnip heaven?
