Hey, I was reading through Hossan's character description on the guide and it seemed to suggest that even if you ignore a villager, you can still gain friendship since there are a lot of festivals.
Does participating in [and hopefully winning] a festival count toward talking to the villagers? or would you have to then talk to the villagers at the festival for it to count? Because all in all there are a lot of people it would be nice to be able to ignore...
I don't think you have to talk to the villagers to gain fp, Animal/crop festivals (Only if you win) will gain you 1000, Each other festival (like the music one) will gain you 1000 just for participating. Friendship based events like the flower festival will gain you 2000 to 500fp.
I can confirm you don't actually have to talk to villagers. I hardly ever talk to the bachelors other than Allen, even during festivals, but most of them are at the upper heart colors already.
