Do smashed boulders reapear?

Hi! I'm finaly digging my way down to Gorgon's lair. To clear my intended staircase i smashed the boulders on top of the rocky soil. A few days later (i was busy harvesting) the boulders where back????
Ís this normal? Oh, and is there a way to fix the camera view? As soon as i'm digging down i would prefer to fix my view, now i have it jumping around. I know i can rotate the view with the shoulder buttons, but so far i found no way to change the elevation. Can you help? Thank you.

it´s normal, that boulders appear frome time to time, but it is not guaranted, that they appear at the same spot, as they were before.

I don´t know, if you can change the camera angle, but I havn´t found any solution, because the angle is allways downstairs, so you can just look from above.

Boulders have a small chance to appear in stone and dry soil every day.
