Europe got four themes based on the various farm animals. America will get them too, eventually!

Video:

I'll get the cow one when it comes out here.

Oh « Harvest Goddess », the dog one! I neeeed it!!!

I actually love them all, but the got the eyes wrong on the chickens :(. The chickens in TLV are my favorite HM chickens in ANY game, so this makes me sad.

I'm so getting all four themes when they finally wander over here. EU players got them for free with the game, but NOA doesn't do that, so we'll be paying for them. NOA is super cheap >:(.

Oh! Haha I knew there was something about the chicken one- the eyes are open!

It's odd, but it's still pretty cute.

Europeans got all four themes for free? :o Whoa that's pretty generous.

I THINK so. EU lately gets a lot of the game-specific themes for free with the purchase of the game, and we end up paying for them in NA. Happened with Zelda and Xenoblade, and probably some other games that weren't only radar. Monster Hunter, I think. EU seems to be making a big push with the perks for the 3DS. They also got some super cool physical rewards in their CN that we didn't get.

(OTOH, their games adjusted for currency conversion tend to be somewhat pricier than ours, so I guess it breaks down about the same. I'm still mad they got the standard N3DS and we didn't though...it's been hinted we'll be seeing some "new SKUs" soon though, so maybe soon....my poor aching wrists will be so thankful!)

Eee, the dog and the chicken are so cute! Must have!

...I don't normally shell out for cosmetic stuff like this, but I already caved on that when the Pokemon Gen 5 theme with Hilda and N showed up, soooo... I guess I'll be making an exception for these four if they aren't free in NA.

I don't mind buying them, really. Even with the cost of the themes and DLC, we come up to the normal cost of a 3DS game. And the dog looks a bit like my real dog. Since Nintendo doesn't allow us custom themes, it's as close as I'm going to get to having a picture of my dog as a wallpaper (something, I'd like to add, that we could do with the stupid DSi...).

I may have purchased 2 copies of the game and 2 copies of the DLC anyway LOL. Still feels like a bargain, since I'm nearing 400 hours of gameplay and there's still stuff I want to do. Someone today talked about having a waterfall in locations other than the goddess spring and...yep. I want a Gorgan-land waterfall. I'm insane.

It's a matter of principle, mostly. Micro-transactions and DLC price-gouging are becoming rampant, because why spend millions of dollars making a triple A game when you can just make an addicting smart phone game that prints money for you? Companies like Blizzard are making a killing off of games like Hearthstone, and they canceled their big Project Titan because it just couldn't compete. If this kind of trend continues full force, it's going to mean bad things for the gaming industry as a whole. So I try to be careful about rewarding this kind of behavior, and only throw my wallet at a company when it increases a game's lifespan by a commensurate amount. Or when they slap Hilda and N on something -.-; *OTP*

LOL! On the whole I entirely agree; in this case since the game was already budget priced AND they gave away a bunch of free stuff (even the first lot of paid DLC, which for the price actually added a lot of fun stuff), AND I've put in a crapton of time on the game and I am still enjoying it AND I specifically want to support Natsume making more HM games...I'll go ahead and buy.

Most of the rest of the time, you can pry your DLC money from my cold, dead hands. Except Theatrhythm. I caved there. Oh, how I caved...

I personally don't put themes on the same category as dlc. I see them as their own product.

I do try to limit my purchasing of themes though. They're kinda expensive and purely cosmetical... But I'm totally getting the cow one.

Forgot to mention, one thing I really like about these themes is that the cute picture is on the TOP screen instead of the bottom! A lot of the really neat themes have all the action/pics on the bottom screen...for those of us who have a lot of digital content, it means we can't see much of the theme we paid for :(. So yay for puppy dogs on the top screen!

I love the cow and doggie the best. I only have 2 paid themes on my 3DS cause I find most of them rather boring, but these look awesome! I also love that they make sounds when you put them out from sleep mode. The Halloween Black Cat theme has one too. It miaous! :D Unfortunately, there's a chance they may be $2.81 here (2.50 + 13% tax), which is the highest price for a theme I've seen so far. I hope they're lower priced.

YAY, they will be 99 cents US each or 2.99 in a bundle. I was afraid they'd be $2.50 each, and now I'm so happy I was wrong! I have enough left in my Eshop wallet to get the dog and cow! ^_____^ Yay for cheap themes!

It seems they'll be 1 buck each, or all four for 3.

I might end up getting the bundle!

I'll probably buy the bundle just because lazy; I want 3 and so I'd just get the one that I am meh about for free. The horse one doesn't excite me; the horse in TLV annoys me. Why can't that dummy jump the fence??? *I* can jump the fence. Why can't *you* jump the fence? And since there are no gates...

Yeah, I suppose I could just get a separate barn for the critter, but eh.

(speaking of fences, if you want one but don't have the supplies, I'm fairly sure you can just dig a 3-deep trench around the area you want enclosed for your animals--or possibly just run a stream of water. I haven't tested this yet, because I am too lazy to pick up all the fence I have placed. But I had a low-elevation planting spot right in front of my barn and my partially completed fence...and my animals stayed put! If it does work, it's a fast/cheap way to keep your animals from wandering until you gather the materials for a proper set-up.)

I actually thought about using those, but dammit....I'd already built more than half my fence. And now I am stubborn LOL.

If the stream does work though, it's a super quick-n-dirty way to contain your animals very early in the game. It's not necessary to fence them of course, but it does prevent the "Get off my carrots, you stupid sheep!" rage LOL.

Now if we could just cage that bear....though every now and then he spawns inside my fence WITH the cows and sheep, and that always makes me laugh. Just a bear in with the livestock, no big thing. XD
