No, you can't. Don't sell your wool--you'll need quite a bit of it for buildings, clothes, and various requests.

Yup, hoard it for requests and construction.

One of the character's seasonal quests asks for FIFTY wool. FIFTY. Another one calls for 30 of a pretty high quality. I am starting to hate that woman....

(it should also be noted that a single shearing off a wool-breed sheep is enough wool to produce at LEAST a couple of sweaters...depending on breed and size, a single sheep produces 2 to 30 pounds of wool per shearing. Run that to the average and call it about 15 lbs; even assuming a couple pounds of the fleece lost to poor quality and soiling, you're gonna get a good 10 lbs of wool. So that "fabric shop lady" just randomly needs 50 lbs of wool? For free? One has to wonder what kind of child-labor sweatshop she's got going to need THAT much wool!)

Just another question, in case I missed it (sorry, European player and thus not very far with the game yet): you do not have to do anything else than to raise the affection of your sheep to get a better quality wool?

Mine has 4 hearts and all I get is normal wool... seems like my sheep does not like me at all.

Nope, just keep treating your sheep well, they should produce better quality wool. Though it's somewhat random; My maxed out cows/sheep will sometimes give me the base quality product.

There ARE some feeds to make animals produce better quality goods, but they are expensive to buy and require a LOT of high-level mutation stuffs to produce. Until you are at the point that you can comfortably buy/make that stuff, I just stick with the "great" feed (the one that runs 70g). I get plenty higher-quality stuff that way. It's also fairly easy to produce once you've unlocked fodder corn, though to exclusively produce your animal feed you'd need to keep a fair amount of it growing year-round. I've never bothered LOL.
