Does anyone else think like the fact that snow waters your crops/flowers in this game? About time it did :)

I assume they did it because most of your first year will be winter, so snow had to work like traditional rain or else that first year would've been quite frustrating.

Yeah, the only way that would have worked is if they broke away from the winter only equals snow thing, which I don't see a HM game doing. ((I mean it does rain in winter but tbh that might be jarring.))

Doesn't it always work like rain? In games where there are winter crops, I mean. I thought it did...

Well, I can't remember off the top of my head about earlier BokuMono titles, but it won't water your crops in SoS or ANB. The game treats it like normal weather and the animals can go outside ago, except when it comes to cutscenes ~_~ *grumbles about stupidly strict event requirements that made it take a full eight weeks longer to get married*

Snow won't water your crops either in ToTT. As for earlier games that I've played, you could not even plant any crops except grass in winter so it didn't work either.

Huh, I guess I just watered and never really noticed before. Because of rain/snow changing soil conditions in LV, I'm not sure if I'm fond of it here or not; sure does make the first few seasons easier though!

Now, fog...THAT is useless. I can almost entirely navigate by lower screen now though!

Well, fog has one use.

I noticed that if fog happens several days in a row, flowers die.

Well... That's not useful for the player... But it does something!

Savoy Spinach has been observed to mutate more readily on foggy days. So there's that at least u_u I wonder if it lowers crop health the way a storm does.

That time fog killed my flowers, I had like two or three days of fog in a row. The day after that my crops were 100% fine, but almost half my flower field died.

Not sure if it was just luck and it affects crops too, but it seemed too specific.

What crops and flowers were you growing, specifically?

The crops I don't remember, but I certainly remember the flowers were mostly tulips and other spring flowers.

It was sad because it was during the first few days of spring and I had just planted them. :(

(And since I wasn't expecting fog to affect them, I saved the night before)

There's just something going on with crops sometimes that we don't quite understand. It's been speculated that out-of-season crops have lower health that in-season crops, and also that excessive moisture can kill plants. I've had what seems to be excessive moisture kill plants here and there, and this isn't the first time I've heard of crops dying after foggy weather. Maybe it's best to consider foggy days the same as storms, and fertilize crops accordingly.

Edit: Just to be clear, were you watering every day? And what soil type was everything planted on? There's no possibility this could simply be normal crop health loss from not getting enough water, is there?

Can't really remember, but I think I was watering them. It was super early in the season (literally the first few days), so I must have watered them.

The flowers were on my terraces, which have grassy and swampy parts.

Fog does in fact reduce crop health and should be treated as bad weather the same as storms.
