So I just started Rune Prana and I'm stuck trying to get a switch because I'm just not doing any damage to the fire Mage things as I can't hit them with my sword.

Can anyone tell me the best long sword to use for it? Also how to make it and what to ipgrade it with would help too.

Any sword that's sufficiently powerful should fit your needs! There's not one "best" weapon in this game.

I could tell you what's worked best for me, but that might not suit your playstyle. Here's a recipe list that you can browse through- you'll find Long Swords by searching for [F_LSW]. The higher-end recipes are near the end of the list. Keep in mind that if you make a weapon without learning it from a Recipe Bread first it'll take a lot more RP.

Out of curiousity what did you use?

I like using fists, so I made the Fenrir fists... because wolves and mythology. It didn't do enough damage for my tastes, but I really like the way it looks, so I forged a Saint Axe (iirc. Whatever the strongest weapon in the axe/hammer category is- it's got the most damage hands down) and cross-forged its stats onto a new Fenrir via Light Ore. All the overkill you'll never need.
