I put the yellow wonderful on my axe, and it now lists tree stumps as choppable items. However, when I try to chop them, it does not work.
Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

You have to hold down the button until your character pulls back the tool and it starts glowing. If you don't charge the tool like that, the Wonderfuls you've attached won't take effect.

Also, if you've only got one yellow Wonderful attached to your axe, it'll take a few charged hits before it'll break. The more yellow Wonderfuls you use, the fewer swings it'll take.

Thank you! I knew about the charging part, but I didn't know I had to hit the stump multiple times. I appreciate it! :) :D

A thought just occurred to me- I'm going to guess it is the same process for big rocks!
If I am wrong, feel free to correct me, but if I am right, yay!

Edit: it does work with the large, smooth rocks as well. Not the bumpy ones. (Hammer with yellow wonderful)

Yup, to break the larger, bumpy rocks, you'll need to attach multiple yellow Wonderfuls to your hammer.
I'm thinking it only needs two in order to break them, but it may actually need more than that.

I'll post how many once I get more yellow wonderfuls. :)
Thanks a bunch! :)
(I recently opened a new file and started playing again, and I'm already doing better than my first go! :D )

Yes. It takes only two yellow wonderful stones to smash away the rough, bumpy boulders with six charge hits but only one yellow wonderful for the smooth boulders with only two charge hits.[*]

I wish you all the best in your second file!~ I never actually have the exact patience to finish the whole game about the 100 sunstones and I have already lost counts on how many times I have restarted the game but nonetheless, restarting and doing even better each time is yet another pleasant experience. Enjoy.
