Material Stone, animal Stress

a) What is material stone even used for? Can I use it for buildings (from Gannon) instead of lumber? In addition to lumber? All I can figure to do with it is make fences.

b) It's easy to see an animals Affection, but is there any way to see its Stress? Is that the blue bar underneath the hearts?

Material stone is used for making stronger fences for your animals, trees, and used for upgrading the material of your refrigerator, shelf, tool and accessory boxes so that your items stay fresh for longer.
