Man I missed a lot of convo. I wanna slip a couple things in real quick just to be clear:
Please please please please PLEASE let the characters have path-finding AI this time. I'm so sick of seeing all the SoS NPCs walk into one another all the time after festivals and in the evenings.
Gifts/My dumb song line was joking about the MC staring at the villagers while waiting to give their gift. I think that was clear but now I'm unsure and like "oh why did I write that".
On WP & HG being the same or different people:
I am pretty sure the games have various dialogue that hints at them being the same, unless you count the ones who look radically different. (So like AP witch(princess?) is not same as blonde witch princess etc.) But if you mean the Blonde WP and green-haired HG: (IIRC on all of the following ofc) In IoH or SI, the HG specifically says her ponds are all connected (I think it's in one of Alissa's heart events or something) , and I believe the sprites mention something like this, at least in the Japanese version of ANB, and that's why she is not always there and has to be summoned by gifts. Similarly, when I made witch's house in ANB, she said something about how collecting the black fragments 'summoned' her from where she was before, and when I married her she had a lot of dialogue about how she is old and won't age, and will continue to not age even when my farmer is an old man, etc. Obviously I love WP, but I wouldn't mind a new/different witch either, although I wasn't fond of the one in ANB. I'd love a nice one (maybe like a Melody from RF or bubbly one or something).
On MC's Ages/Looks/Game Artstyle:
I didn't notice at first, but it does seem like the art style (meaning portrait art) is going back a bit more kiddish than it was in SoS. Maybe even a bit more than ANBs? I'm a bit bummed about that because I enjoyed SoS's portrait art, but I also liked ANB's a lot, and ToTT's was pretty good... I kind of feel like, looking at the MCs and Lissette and Wes, the character art seems to be hovering between ToTT & ANB on detail level, which isn't too bad. I really think ANB's portraits were probably my favorite so I hope these have a nice amount of detail for them. It might just be character design that makes me feel like they're a bit simpler. I'm also thinking it will be closer to ANB's based on that
super adorable pink haired gal's portrait on Wayne's page.
I want to marry her already, even though she's certainly just an NPC for dogs or pets or something. (I can't make out the nameplate gah. But she'll be with Matsuba and others on more characters I'd love to marry list.) I also think the big, clear eyes aren't helping with the age perception thing, tbh.
(I really hope that female farmer model picture is a placeholder thing though, or just for that menu, given the character models we see on Lisette's and Wayne's pages look more like SoS's.)
Random Thought on Bachelor/ette hopes:
I'd love to see more body types too. I remember I really liked Bob in MM and would have married him if I didn't feel he looked odd in that game's super-chibi style. I felt SoS was not too shabby with this; I mean at least we got some different heights and some particularly lithe looking characters etc.
Honestly, I think my main gripe with the BokuMono games and the whole magical bachelor(ette)s has been the frequency of "magical girl + normal guy". I'd be nice to get balance on that if we get any magicy characters. But I also will be really surprised if the HG and/or (blonde) WP aren't in this game because of Witchie and Dessie being in the past one.

I wonder if they changed the time mechanic. There's no time just a sun in the upper corner.

It's possible that the screenshots we have now are just mockups for Famitsuu and not actual in-game shots... or maybe you can turn the clock off? I think the clock is too established for it to not exist, and you REALLY need it on screen, even if they return to a "time stops indoors" mechanic...

I don't know about other versions, but at least in the japanese version of SoS, clock and date appear in the lower screen, not in the upper one.

Speaking of the above picture, in addition to a time mechanic not being displayed, it looks like maybe the character face next to the heart meter is maybe the 3D model's face with a bit of a filter over it and an outline applied? Maybe it changes based on what we change our MC to look like?
Also I just realized at least there the male MC looks rather effiminate to me, haha.
Still though, the time/no clock thing, although mentioned before... It makes me wonder on if it has changed somehow. But it could be something as simple as the clock is on the lower screen now or something? (Oh if it is on SoS and I forgot then that would makes sense haha.)

In SoS the upper screen has a little icon that shows the current weather (which is a bit unnecessary if you ask me) and the clock is in the lower screen.

Very late to reply, but I have been lurking the thread.
I am very excited for this game, especially since I loved SoS, the game makes it to my top five BokuMono games for sure. That being said, I'm a bit apprehensive about the three towns, just because ToTT was my least favorite, but I feel like with the 3DS engine they will make it work better. I have no major requests other then a mine, and the possibility of not having blueprints in this version just because we've had it for two renditions. Besides that, I am keeping an open mind.
Oh, and I would love homosexual relations for obvious reasons, but I won't hold my breath. I'm more interested in the farming aspects for right now.

Personally, the characters look too young to me, but it's not a dealbreaker.
I did some research and リシェット (Rishetto) is romanized as "Lichette" (pronounced Lee-scheth (?), meaning small/tiny/small quantity in French). Lisette would be リセット (Risetto) in katakana.
It's like Rega / Raeger case again... They might change her name in the English version anyway.
Lichette is cute, I guess. Wayne reminded me of Dirk, probably because of the same profession and the general design (his attire + hat).
I want marriage candidates of various body types, physical characteristics, and age groups: AP's Selena, RFF's Eunice, ANB's Olivia and Rebecca, RF3's Shino, RF4's Lin Fa, HoLV's Chester and Rudolph, RF3's Carlos, RF4's Bado and Porco, etc. The bachelorettes need to step out the "barely legal" and "twenties something" areas more often, and the bachelors especially need to stop being too pretty / bishounen. Also, them having different professions we never/rarely have would be nice, like a mayor (the closest one we got was Gill, but he's not mayor yet), a sailor, a miner, etc. I also like magical characters instead of returning characters as special candidates; Marvelous needs to stop being lazy.
Nice to see that the MC has family members now. I hope this can be expanded further in future games, like MC's parents, siblings, etc.
All of the above would be nice to have, but not required. But please please let the stupid breaking up requirements die/ easier. It's my greatest wish. My excitement for this game would die down if it still exists.

This. I don't think I would be able to go through a single day in HM without looking at the clock. I usually have a set schedule of what I supposed to do at certain time of the day, so not having it on screen would just make me miserable; please don't do that, Marvelous. I'm going with what people said that it might be on lower screen (which was an odd place to put it on, but it's better than nothing).

Lichette is cute, I guess.
I chose to romanize as Lisette because it's an actual given name and Lichette doesn't appear to be (quick google search is revealing all surnames, and there is actually no wikipedia page with the name Lichette) -- I think in the early stages of a game like this it's also likely to cause some people to pronounce her name with a hard CH, and "Lisette" with a soft S and "Lichette" with a soft CH are really not so different. (Something Japanese audiences don't need to worry about, since katakana is phonetic.) We'll see what they do with it at XSEED, but that was my reasoning.
(Also, "Lichette" makes her sound like a cute little Lich... which is adorable but doesn't really line up with her image.
)

But that's where the clock has always been
Or at least it's been there since SI (I actually just checked in case I was remembering it wrong, and that's the earliest game I have). To be correct SI has the clock in the upper screen, but that's cos the map/info is there and the screen with the people is the bottom one. GB, ToTT, ANB and SoS have the clock on the bottom screen.

Can't unsee. But I find the idea of marrying an adorable little Lich appealing xD It reminds me of Lichen more tbh, so I thought it was somewhat fitting.

Yup, which is why I said it's an odd place to put it. The clock used to be on the upper screen pre-GrB. Like, when we played the game, we would see the upper screen most of the time instead of the lower screen. I don't get why they put it on the lower screen.
Anyway, I hope to get at least three save files. More save files are always good though.

On the name thing, in my personal experience/opinion, so ofc ymmv, romanization of foreign names and words in Japanese is always evolving and stuff too, at least to a degree, so sometimes I feel like there isn't a definite right or a wrong way to do so on some terms and names as well. For example, I learned two ways to write my name, Rachel, and although I am sure they have standardized it more by now, back when I first was learning Japanese we had to learn three or four ways to write violin because at the time all of those ways were being use fairly equally, or at least so we were taught. (Plus then we have cases where some names are just odd in BokuMono too. Like Melanie being technically Melty (and ofc Leia being Lettuce etc). And obviously I'm not saying you can call Sara Pankeki and say it's correct, just that perhaps things vary, especially from region to region.)
So I guess my whole point is that I don't think everyone will always agree on names technically, but it's probably best to stick with given names vs surnames. (Although to be fair, as far as I know Schmidt is mostly a surname so...)

I agree that we need more save files. I'd be okay with 3, but I really would like more than the usual 2 :/ I hardly ever play as a guy at this point because I never have enough saves, and I don't want to erase all my hard work in my files.
I like actual dating instead of hareming, but as already mentioned, I really wish breaking up was easier. It's honestly pretty ridiculous how difficult it is and I don't really understand why they've made it that difficult. Same with getting reverse confessions/proposals, ugh

@Muse: I'm aware of that and I definitely agree. Japanese and English have very different writing system. We don't translate foreign names into Japanese when we write it in katakana, since it is a merely approximation based on phonetics, and there isn't 1:1 way to do this like you've said. Even when you romanized Japanese names into English, you probably will also have to decide which romanization system you use (Hepburn, Kunrei-shiki, wapuro, etc). They could've named all the characters Japanese names written in hiragana to eliminate ambiguity, but afaik writing names in hiragana nowadays are only done by females and/or children in Japan because of the girly/ childish image associated with it and how hiragana used to be viewed as "women's writing" during the time when women were denied access of education equal to men.
I'm not sure how Marvelous came up with these unusual foreign names and they didn't seem to care whether these names are given names, surnames, or completely random nonsense anyway. So, I decided to not really pay attention whether they are real names or not, and more on how these names were romanized by others by looking at several examples, etc.
Well, change of topic.
I personally prefer hareming like in RF4 instead of entering a relationship/dating stage because it's less tedious. Like, if I want to break up, I don't want to lower their heart all the way back to black. It seems like I was undoing all the time and effort I have put into the game. Why not ignore them like two weeks or something, and don't count festivals as interactions. :/
