So, does anybody think we'll have Harvest Sprits in this game? My guess is "no", because they haven't been announced yet. Dessie is here, though, which makes me think we could still get Harvest Sprits announced as one of the last things they reveal, since the Harvest Sprits were helping and watching over her in SoS. However, Dessie could very easily just be on her own (maybe she has to be on her own as part of a test to prove herself, or something.)

Hm....probably not? If there were going to be Harvest Sprites, we would've heard something by now

Just a quick reminder for anyone who hasn't been checking the Friends of 3 Villages Tumblr. That Bokumono art contest...the deadline is up today. http://friendsof3villages.tumblr.com/

So if you were going to send something, today's your last chance. The post sounds slightly desperate so I'm wondering if maybe they're not getting very many entries (international ones, that is). It'd be a shame if there was a poor showing, since there usually isn't much of a chance for us (international Bokumono fans) to show that we exist.

Wish I could draw, but everything I draw ends up looking more or less like a kidney bean or other miscellaneous blob. (In other words, I have less than zero talent at it. My drawn artwork looks worthy of a 4-year-old.) I considered making 'Harvest Moon'-inspired hair jewellery and photographing it since my jewellery and photography skills are adequate...but I don't have the inventory and it takes too long to order in special beads.

EDIT: I don't actually know if I should be calling it a contest...I don't think it's about winning anything, just participation. I'm not sure though...I'll have to read all the posts again.

Speaking of Harvest Sprites, Dessie and Witchie look so good ! Dessie looks a little older?

The personality trait looks very interesting ! It would be nice if we could get some special dialogues about it !
I wonder how much the effect will be, because if we add the personality, the costume and the food effects then there are a lot of possible bonuses !

I think there will be more bachelor/ette, because there are still characters not officially announced ("Neil", black hair girl, pink hair presentator) and they never announce villagers without bachelor/ette.
Can't wait to see all the 28 pets too

That's what I thought when I first saw her too. It'd be nice if they grew a little each game

The Harvest Sprites in SoS, if I recall correctly, were announced the same time as Kamil and Licorice, about a few weeks before the release of the game. We still have one month before the game comes out; anything can happen.

@Kikki: Don't feel bad I can't draw either lol. However I like to make things. Wonder how the contest went lol.

@Harvest Sprites: Yeah I guess we have time to find out lol, Dessie looks the same to me...

Wow, I honestly thought they were announced much earlier then that. I guess that just shows you how messed up my memory is, haha.
I'm hoping we'll have Harvest Sprites. I like having them around, even when they do nothing :). No, I'm not hoping they'll make at least one of them marriageable *nervously shifts eyes back and forth.*

Thanks, Shan, good to know I'm not alone. (But seriously, my drawing skills are somewhere on the far side of abysmal.) The arcana of 2D art is beyond my grasp. I really should have thought of making something sooner, then I would have been able to contribute. Since the magazine was particularly interested in internationally-flavoured art that shows something of your own culture in relation to bokumono, if I could draw I would have loved to draw a springy scene of various characters across the series collecting maple sap from a sugar bush (a forest of sugar maples), or a wintery scene of them boiling it down to pour across the snow and wind up onto sticks as taffy. That would have been fun. But...no. I would never subject anyone to my art style. They might die of laughter and then I'd be guilty of manslaughter. :/

Pft haha...you'd want to marry a Harvest Sprite, Nightlight? I don't know what to think, lol. I suppose under the right circumstances, it could be cool... And they were kind of good in SoS since they all looked very different from each other and had such distinct personalities. They're always so hard to make friends with, though, since you can't get festival boosts with them and their gifts aren't as easy as Dessie's simple fruit/vegetable offerings.

A...Harvest Sprite marriageable...I don't know what to think hahaha....I guess it'd be interesting, but I agree with Kikki about befriending them would be difficult.

Yes, having a HM/SoS game with a marriageable Harvest Sprite in it is one of my pipe dreams, and I shall never relinquish it. NEVER!
Spoiler:
How I always imagine it would work is that, after you go through a chain of friendship events with them, the Harvest Goddess would give them something that changes them from a little sprite to an adult about your age (something like the grow-up candies from ANB, but permanent,) so they can be seen by people and be able to fit in among them.
After that, you'd be able to start dating and getting Heart Events with them. Oh, and they'd keep their pointy ears (which they'd keep hidden underneath a scarf that's wrapped over their head, or something,) because I like pointy ears :).

(I have a more detailed explanation of how I see it working in my computer, but I don't think it's necessary to bring out. And, yes, I have thought too much about this. Yes, I am a crazy person. No, I am not ashamed of it :).)

I think I could marry absolutely anybody in a bokumono game as long as the story surrounding them was right. As long as it was humanoid, at least. :) (No cow-marrying for me. Unless it's a werecow, I guess, lol.) The story around a character is what makes them appealing, imo. Even the characters that look uncomfortably childlike to me would suddenly become okay if their backstory presented them in the right way. Though I was pretty happy to see that Ludeus has muscles that are visible without a magnifying glass (I not only like guys muscular, I like girls with clearly visible muscle tone, too, so the Japanese tendency to make everyone shapelessly scrawny is not to my personal taste, though it certainly suits some characters. It's just that athletic bodies are much more to my taste.) Still, it's the personality and story that matter the most, to me.

Having to jump through a few extra hoops to get a certain candidate actually appeals to me. It makes it more of a story, and I enjoy that, unless the requirements are painfully grindy.

So, about information...we should have, what? One more large-ish information dump? Somewhere in early June? Hmm. They've already given us 6/6 candidates, more or less...I'm already happy with the candidates, so whatever else they reveal will just be a icing, for me. But they save something of the best for last, right? I wonder what it will be. I suppose it'll be returning characters, but whether they'll be candidates or just regular NPCs I don't know. (Neil could be a travelling livestock vendor or something rather than a candidate, if he returns. Not that that's a theory of mine, but I do think it's possible that the returnees this time around might not be marriage candidates at all. Like Barrett from RF4, who was the sexiest of all the villagers and the easiest to befriend, but you couldn't marry him. That was a bit of a tease, lol.) Still, the fact that it'll probably be the last information doled out before game release makes me extra curious about what they'll be giving out.

You know what? I just realized that I really wanted a marriage candidate with facial hair XD I really could have gone for a nice goatee or a chin patch (not a small one though, they look ridiculous). But not whiskers, or those weird facial hair lines that some artists do because they apparently don't know how to draw facial hair. IDK, I just thought of that randomly.

Have we ever had one of those? I can't remember one. Hmm, maybe facial hair is not in fashion in Japan, at least among the younger generations? (I don't like it, myself, but that doesn't mean I don't want a candidate with one. The more variety, the better! Or so I say at the moment...I should probably be careful what I wish for.) I really have no idea. But I can't think of any bachelors that have had facial hair. If we have had one, I'd like to look him up. As for me, I think it'd be nice to have a bachelor with really nicely placed tribal-style tattoos. On the face is good, too.
