I don't think the review score says much at all about how good it'll be. That's just the opinion of a few people that depends on their personal taste. Honestly I've never looked at critic reviews for any games I want at all. If there are a lot of PLAYER reviews, I'll try to figure out the general consensus. Like if almost everyone says 'argh, I hate the way cooking works in this game' and 'ooh, the fishing is so much fun!', that's what I take my impression from.

Also...what on earth could they have even rated the game on, yet? The demo at E3? Probably all you can play at this point would be something similar to the tutorial period at the beginning. Have they got advance copies? And if so, how many hours of play time did those reviewers put in? Or are they just going by dry information? I won't care about reviews until I can see some sort of consensus based on the impression of hundreds of actual players who have logged significant game time. :)

Oh, good...I missed that in SoS. I liked in ANB that when you upgrade it waters a larger area in one shot, as opposed to SoS where upgrading means you still have to water every plot individually, it'll just be much faster. :)

Famitsu is a Japanese company. Their reviews are based on the full Japanese version. This is the same publication which gives us scans every month.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the Famitsu scores. A score of 80% (32/40) is still really good and way higher than most Bokumonos are rated over here, in any rate.

Here are some of their scores for older games:
Spoiler:
SoS - 80
ANB - 80
ToTT - 80
AP - 72
HoLV - 68
GrB - 75
SI - 68
IoH - 70

Yes. :) I knew it was Japanese, but it hasn't been released there yet either and I hadn't heard of a Japanese demo, so I wasn't sure what they were basing their scores on, if for some reason they get advance copies or something. I just don't tend to agree with critic reviews, any time I've looked at them. It just isn't a big enough pool. And a rating of 8/10 IS pretty good, though I see that's what they gave all 4 of the most recent games (including Trio) so it almost seems like a default rating, lol. If it were me, for my own taste, I'd score those games differently. ToTT would be a 7, ANB would be a 9, and SoS would be an 8. And likely not very many people would agree with ME, either.

A lot of people here seem to have loved AP like crazy, and it only got 7.2/10, so, yeah. I don't think the rating really means anything about how much you're going to enjoy it, unless the reviewers all care about the exact same things as you do, in a game.

The only one who can give you an accurate rating of a game is YOU, because only you know what parts really matter. (To you, since when the game is in your hands, the only person whose enjoyment matters is yours.)

Yup, I couldn't stand ToTT, didn't like ANB, but loved AP so my personal scores would be all over the place, lol.

So you can change the color of your tools which is pretty neat.

Has this been posted yet?
It looks like what the famitsu link on the previous page was talking about, expanding the area of effect of tools.

I don't think it's been posted yet, but I can't swear to that :) Pretty sure it hasn't, though.

@Kirie: You can change your tool's colours? You mean...just at whim, for the sake of having a different colour (like a phone case, lol), or does each upgrade have a different default colour?

Yup, says that you can change the color to your preference. Seems like you can take them to one of the shops and get them remodeled (which is where you modify the stats as well it looks like)

Neat! That's a nice feature to add, along with going back to letting us increase the area of effect for our tools...I did prefer the ANB tool system to the SoS tool system and this seems closer to ANB than SoS, so...woo :)

Oh, if I can make my tools awesome looking, that's a huge draw for me! I hope it doesn't take much materials! Nice additional glamours are always welcome.

Tool system is reminding me slightly of Animal Parade mixed with Wonderfuls from IoH/SI. It sounds like they really are moving jobs back to the townsfolk and mystical beings! Good. As long as they don't have shops that melt in the rain again.

Review scores don't matter that much, really. What I have found is that the longer a BokuMono game has been out, the more the general consensus increases or decreases, or more people will discover this or that game and be drawn to it. It used to be quite hard to find people who loved StH/HoLV and even Animal Parade, but now it is easier. The more games you play, the more your preferences shift, in my opinion. ;)

New Characters are Hector, Colin for Westown (Adult man, kid), Haruba and Tigre for Lulucoco (Old man, teenage boy) and Umekichi, Omiyo, Moriya and Sumomo for Tsuyukusa (Old man, old woman, aduld man and little girl respectively).

Confirms also the return of the SOS festival judges! I hope to see more of them this time around, it seems like some of them fit some of the town's aesthetics (Saffron > Lulucoco, Matsuba > Tsuyukusa, etc) so it would be cool to see more of them but this is highly unlikely.

So it looks like Inari's appearance (very slightly) changes depending if you're a male or female player.
Does anyone know if they swap gender, or if this is just an appearance change?

Oh wow, so I was right about Inari's appearance changing depending on the gender of the MC! I'm very glad about this honestly, does it specify if he/she will get an older form later? I want my fox bishounen.

The difference is so tiny, it's hard to notice (I think one of them has a slightly flattened upper eye line and the other, rounder.) And even once you do....neither one of them looks more feminine or masculine to me, just that one's eyes look more open than the other's, lol. But now we know: if you play as a girl, Inari is male. If you play as a boy, Inari is female. Settled. Right? Or do we still not know, even though they alter the appearance a very tiny bit depending on which gender you choose for you MC?

Oh man, why do they give the best designs to the boys who aren't candidate-age yet? (Tigre and...uh oh, forgot his name. The cute Tsuyukusa kid that has the little bro and his parents run that store.) Those two boys both look like they'd be more gorgeous than any of the other candidates once they grew up. =____= (Though maybe that's just because my imagination gets to tailor their grown-up looks exactly to my taste.)

That little girl with the pompoms in her hair is the cutest kid yet, imo. Tsumomo? Can I call her just Momo? Lol.

Yay, Saffron is back! That should mean cooking competition is back, too...I like the cooking competitions :)

EDIT: The most mysterious page to me is this one: http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-conten ... can_20.jpg Because...why all that text? That's a LOT of text.

Yes, it seems to change based on your character's gender. So it's a Jaime situation.

Also says that because Inari is a « Harvest Goddess », it seems that is not possible that they can have kids.
