Ah, I was afraid that was going to be the case. Thought maybe they'd let Inari have kids magically if in no other way. Well, that removes Inari as a candidate for me, anyway. (Though he/she was never high on my list anyway, so it's not as big a disappointment for me as it may be for some others.)

Honestly, I don't see a difference between the female and the male Inari. All it looks like to me is that the female one has her head slightly tilted and has a more curious(?) expression on her face. Could be just me, though.
Also, I'm really disappointed that you can't have kids with Inari.

On the topic of the SoS judges returning, I only have one thing to say:

That's what it reads to me, but it's best to wait for someone who is fluent for 100% confirmation. I also didn't see anything about an older portrait.

Wow, that's worse than them being lazy and just giving the child a recolor.. I was hoping to have kids with fox ears and tails :'(

The female Inari has a more rounded eyeshape, particularly the upper eyelid on the inside corners. Female Inari also has more tapereed and rounded eyebrows. It makes the character noticeably more feminine to me, but it isn't like male Inari has an overly masculine design to begin with.

Unless the children are actually useful or well, do anything besides pace the house, i'm a-ok with have an option where there no child bearing.

In my case, I need the kids to give me a later-game goal to help keep me motivated to play a bit longer. That's pretty much my only reason.

I never make it far enough to get kids anyway and quiet frankly I want the choice to NOT have kids so this is good for me. Sorry to others who do want Inari to have kids; doubtful but maybe they will add an adoption option for Inari :/

A little disappointed that their appearance changes depending on your MC's gender, since it could mean that they have a gender after all. I was hoping that they would remain genderless/agender. Won't stop me from going after them though.

I think I'm going to have to wait and see a portrait comparison between them for me to be convinced that there's an actual difference. I do see what you guys are talking about, but all it looks like to me is that female Inari is being more curious and male Inari is being more serious (perhaps male and female Inari have different personalities?)
I know that I'm probably just being an overly skeptical idiot, and I am aware that it's probably the differences in the face that are giving me the "female Inari is curious, male Inari is serious" vibe, but I really do think I'm going to need to see a portrait comparison to feel comfortable with saying "yup, there's a definite difference."

I'm also curious about them having different personalities. Note that the female chibi is smiling, while male is frowning. Not that there is much else that they could do in that scale to portray differences, but it raises questions.

no returning marriage candidates, this is rare, maybe the returning marriage candidates is unpopular on new game? so marvelous decide to remove returning marriage candidates...

anyway im fine with Inari changing appearance depending which gender you choose lol, and no kids is totally fine since there is no "benefit" for having a child (except they gonna make your child usable like AP)
