You should see (Character name)_Old and SaveGameInfo_old. Remove the _old on both of them and it should be a backup save of the previous day. You'll lose a day but, at least no the whole file.
Stardew Valley - Out now!

I finally began actually playing the game. The characters still don't interest me much, but the Egg Festival was so fun that I am enjoying the game more now.
I just wish Robin wasn't taken hehe. I have no idea who I am going to marry, honestly, but hoping someone's heart events win me over.
I'm not big on Shane but excited for Emily to be a marriage candidate.
Sooooo glad the dev has said mac and linux ports are going to be a thing! Also very excited for Wii U version as I really dislike the computer controls tbh.

@Mel: I found a lot of the characters became far more fleshed out if you raised their hearts and witnessed events with them. They gave a lot more depth to a character like Alex that appears really one dimensional. Raising hearts also isn't super hard and it's really fun to just stumble into the events : )
the WASD controls threw me off so much at first since i almost never play games on the computer, got used to them eventually though

@Meri:
How are the controller controls? I have a gaming controller somewhere so I was curious because I heard people complain about it.
@Peachy:
Thanks for the info, that's what I was hoping. I found most people like flowers so I've been giving those out lately. It is nice to stumble into events, but I wish everyone had black heart events like in HM instead of trying to wait until 2. (Although I agree 2 isn't hard to get to, I've gotten some characters to that without even trying.)

A good trick to raise heart levels REALLY high is to give the person a great or favorite gift on their birthdays. It's insane how much their heart level raises. Shane and Emily have birthdays in spring and they became my first friends because what they like is fairly easy to obtain early game.Melody Muse wrote:@Meri:

Flowers and foraged items are really great starting out!
I have a Rock Candy 360 controller, and other than having to look up a tutorial to fix drivers (because Rock Candy is not officially 360 merch, so I had to find the proper codes. I have the video if anyone needs it; it's slightly complex, but worth it.), it's been super helpful in avoiding persistent headache issues that come from having to use keyboard and mouse in ways I'm not used to.Melody Muse wrote:@Meri:

Left thumbstick or d-pad moves your character, Right moves the mouse pointer (which vanishes when it's not in use), Y opens up the menu on the crafting page, start opens the menu from the character page (and also pauses), A and X are action buttons, and B cancels. I know the 'selecct' button does something, but I haven't played in a while, so I forget. XD And I believe you can customize the buttons at will, same as keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks for the info guys! I already found the wiki has some mistakes with gifts (it said only Sebastian and Maru and the old guy disliked flowers but Jodi hated it too and the old guy liked it) so I appreciate the gift tips. At least most folks like flowers. Too bad I wasn't paying attention to birthdays for most of spring. I'm on Spring 20th iirc.
Also in the mines, I can totally see why people replaced them with pokemon; those guys in the sand totally look like diglets!
And thanks for the controller info too. I wish we could get rid of the cursor entirely though and have it just be in front of your character. That's my main complaint in the game of this. Can you kind of line it up and pretend it's like that with the controller?
(Also sorry for any typos; I'm on my phone on a very bumpy bus ride.)

With me, though I sometimes have to make small cursor adjustments (It can get amusing at times, but all irritating, I agree) the cursor goes invisible after a few seconds of not being touched. Unless I have to move it specifically so that I stop digging behind me (or picking a gift on the bar that I DIDN'T WANT THANKS!), it's pretty much nonexistent.
