Harvest Mario: A Mushroom Kingdom Harvest Moon

I found my old login, yay! I don't know why this was closed, but i am serious about this.

picture this, an rpg maker harvest moon game based on the mario series.

Actual mario main characters could show up in villager roles. Like a yearly festival that Peasly could host, Peach visits once a season to see the town, Mario and Luigi show up on occasion.

Bowser comes by, antagonizing his non-preferred villagers.

A few secret bachelor/ettes, maybe, but the main bachelor/ettes are all based off mario characters. Like an old mansion with a pair of Boo twins, a fashion shop run by a shygirl, Goombas running a farm, a male amayzee dayzee helps them out, 1 koopa fishes lazily, another family runs a small shop. One of the Merl-s could appear, maybe with a magic shop?

A toad runs the inn, another grows flowers, bob-omb/hammer bro run the construction buisness., an old magikoopa in dr mario outfit acts as the town doctor, with a woo-able Medi-guy nurse. You can raise yoshis as livestock, and grow pokeys as a crop. the longer you leave them the more segments they grow. Pirahna plants give honey syrup, a bandit sells things from "out-of-town"(out of season crops, animal products, a few unique items) at a huge markup. Snifit bartender, yes. You can hire a monty mole to help you gather mine items, and he and a buzzy beetle team does the tools. Chanterelle could make an appearance at the end of the year festival to sing, and a chuck quizmo can come to run a quiz game. Just make this huge end of year party. Gourmet Guy could host a cooking contest.

you get a chain chomp instead of a dog, you grow mushrooms and other mario plants.

And instead of a beautiful mermaid to woo, you get a beautiful blooper(many tentacles). A lakitu postman, and maybe some kind of story or just some special events involving the star spirits.

Can you tell i like this idea?

I'm thinking of having Fuzzies act as cats, bring home random items daily with high affection.

I'm coming up with a few ideas for characters and their appearances.

I found a cute Bow and Watt picture that would be cool to use, and i made me a blooper lady.

Not gonna lie; this is a crossover I can get behind. I mean, call me a Monty Mole, 'cause I dig it!


I'm curious about some things, though.


What would the main characters be like? Would they be humans, like the bros and the princess? Or some other race, like Toads or Beanfolk?


Regardless of the answers to the above, would there be any level of customization for our MCs? Even just something like clothes?


And what would the bros' dialogue be like? For instance, would Mario have actual dialogue (like, say, his portrayal in Fortune Street)? Would something like soundbites be used? Would Luigi or someone else act as a translator?


I know this is just an idea, but I wanna learn more about this idea you're sharing and how you feel like things will work in-game.

I was around when you first posted this and I really love the idea. I'm so behind this and would love to see it come true
You gotta know and update is if you're truely going to make it. I'd buy it (provided that it has decent graphics, an interesting story line, and not to many glitches.)

Which RPG Maker would you be using to make it with?
Wondering because I'm working on one too, but it sounds like the systems/mood of the game are very different.

For mario i was thinking of dialogue, but it'd be more fun to imply the speech. Have him make facial expressions and various punctuations to communicate his feelings.

I'd like to have some customization of the characters, depending on what ends up being reasonable. I always felt that the games would do better with more options.

Dunno what race they'd be. Haven't gotten that far yet. Human is the obvious default while i'm working on the rest of this.

One thing i thought of for the characters was similar to what was done in the game Hatoful Boyfriend, having humanoid versions of the characters for their portraits, but their overworld sprites be the creatures they actually are. So the boo twins would both have boo sprites, but their portraits would be more human.

I liked that the console games had voices for different characters, but i don't know how realistic that would be, as adding all the voice bits for all the characters would make a very large file.

As it stands, it's still very early in the planning stage so everything's up in the air, but i am really excited for this idea.

I wondered if you can get married as any of the Mario characters too.

Bachelors: Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi(Human), Donkey Kong (Human)

Bachelorettes: Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, Birdo(Human)

Yoshi would be the Cooking Festival's judge. Rosie would be a priestess, Bowser a bartender maybe.
