DIES?! I just found out she is going to die at the first of winter. Y_Y

It is going to be just like Nina from AWL/HMDS(Cute) isn't it? Where she dies, no one in the game cares. Just a grave left, to get me right in the feels every time I see it.

I am probably going to cry my eyes out.

Is there going to be some kind of scene, or is it going to be just like with Nina? (Where she is gone, and if you didn't know to go talk to Galen, you'd never know why she wasn't around the valley anymore.) I hope at least Fritz talks about her, since he is always there when I go to visit her.

I never talk to Fritz much, so I'm not sure if he has any commentary after she passes.

It's different than Nina in a sense where everyone attends her funeral and mourns for her, but I can't really remember any dialogue anyone makes after her death?

Winter 1 is total drama farmtown. Winter 2 is as regular as Autumn 31st.

There is a funeral? Good! I always hated how the games handled Nina. She helped with the birth of the farmer's child, then just gone. Kinda sucks that poor Eda gets so little acknowledgement, then. I loved those seven days tutorial. She is my favourite character in the game.

What happens to her farm? Does it end up as an empty wilderness or something?

You get to take care of her farm though everything on it goes away.
Spoiler:
Except for the four plots of land she gives you at the beginning.
Yeah though, the way they handled Nina's death wasn't my favorite either.

I think the thing with Nina in DS (and AWL) is that the game goes for a "x years later" approach.

The town is not mourning her (only Galen) because it already happened some time ago, maybe years.

Oh, that's actually a really good idea, I never thought of that.

I like that they had the funeral for Eda, but after that it's a severe letdown, because it pretty much never comes up again. No one mentions her at ALL.

I'm also dissapointed that they had to tear down her house just to give you more farmland.

I suspect that was also part of Eda's arranged will, though I feel like it could have been an interesting home for a new character or something. Veronica (reluctantly?) agreeing to let Licorice stay in the house could have been interesting and let her be an excuse to have more dialogue on Eda be an interesting development.

Though I guess this would still prevent you from claiming precious new farmland.

This is seriously the most depressing excuse to give your farm an extension, yet it also makes sense from a storytelling perspective.

Spoiler:
She does come up during the 'end game' cutscene, after you've unlocked all the vendors.
But, yeah, other than that, it's almost like the rest of the town forgets she was there.

Which is kind of sad on one hand, but at least you don't have a constant reminder of her unless you make daily pilgrimages to her grave or something. :p

It's like a one shot thing on winter 1st, after that, it's like nobody cares. Which is sad.

Try having your character's Birthday on Winter 1st without knowing the resulting consequences of her death.

Assuming you did that? ...Sorry...

Your entire birthday gets skipped.

And of course SOMEBODY DIES ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.

The only thing I have to show for it is a letter from Iris.

Might as well have a shirt saying:

"I Went To Celebrate My Birthday In Oak Tree Town And All I Got Was a Letter.

AND DEATH
."

Aww, that's terrible. :( I'm sorry you had to go through that.
