I'm currently in Fall Y2 and planted Andes Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes in the leafy crop field. I happened to get a growth mushroom mystery seed during the first week of autumn so both the Andes Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes advanced two growth stages and I was able to harvest both of them by, say, Autumn 5. I've been harvesting Sweet Potatoes every day and the Andes Potatoes every other day but today in game (Autumn 17 perhaps) the Andes Potatoes disappeared after I harvested them but the Sweet Potatoes, which I've harvested at least twice as often, are still growing.
Is this normal?
I'm bummed, I don't have time to grow another set of Andes Potatoes this fall.

Yes, Andes Potatoes disappear after only a few harvests.

All crops disappear eventually, but you won't see it happen unless you're growing them in a greenhouse. Andes Potatoes are the exception.

Got it, thanks! I'm a bit let down to be honest, I was really hoping to keep profiting from them!
Thanks for the quick response.

I guess that's the tradeoff. They make a lot of money, but you don't get many!

You could always build a greenhouse and grow them year-round ;)

I'm definitely going to do that, thanks! I just built a Fall greenhouse but I filled it with sweet potatoes for unlocking tropical country. I suppose those will eventually disappear too, so I suppose when they do, I'll fill it with andes potatoes

So, how many times can you keep harvesting the sweet potato before it needs to be replanted? Mine lasted the entire month at the farm.

Mine last for almost three seasons in the greenhouse :)

All re-harvestable crops have their own number of harvest. It is written in the seed description. (EDIT: It is not written in the description. Apparently leaving the game for a while can do some magic to my memory ;)) Andes Potatoes can only harvested for 5 times before the crops "disappear". Sweet Potatoes can be harvested for 30 times so it stay on longer. I think the high harvest rate is to compensate for its fast re-growing rate :)

The same thing applied to greenhouse, except the slow growing rate inside greenhouse (because of no double watering bonus) might make the plants seem to "stay" longer.

Them sweet potatoes say something like "grow back for a while". So "a while" basically means the entire season (or longer). I'll won't have to worry about throwing them in the seed shed and replanting.
