Gift Count for Reverse Proposal?

I haven't really found a definitive answer anywhere I've looked so far, so I'll just ask this question directly.

I know you need to give the person 150 gifts (and 30 of those have to be their favorite) but is that 150 gifts since you met them or does the count only start after you begin dating your bachelor/ette?

(I'm not in a rush to get married which is why I'm holding out for the reverse but it's been a year now. I know I've missed a few days of gift-giving but I didn't think it was almost a full season's worth...............................)

It's 150 in total. The gifts you give them before dating do count

The hard part is keeping track of how many gifts you've given them..seriously.
