Ushi No Tane Forum

Hello new to the forum, longtime Harvest Moon player.(64) I was wondering do the villagers ever tell you what there favorite food or item is. I have been looking for answer to this as so far I have not found any. I am trying to play this game as spoiler free as possible but I have always wondered about this.

Take for example Elise, I know she does not like fish and bugs, but then she tells me she likes wheat type items. Does she ever say I love this type of dish or item. I don't want to just look up what she wants(that would ruin the fun for me). So I ask other veterans of the series because this has been one thing that has been plaguing my mind ever since I first started playing Harvest Moon.

I've never seen a villager specifically say what their favourite gift is, or anything they like in normal dialogue. Or seen any hints. The only way to know is to just give them something, and see what they say. Though, without Cher's help site, I would have had absolutely no idea what so ever which gifts to give to anyone.

I highly advise you to look it up, they ONLY tell you how much they like something when you give it to them, and sometimes their "polite dislike" conversation is very misleading, causing people to believe they are giving good gifts when they are giving disliked ones. Eda in particular has this problem.

Actually the TV Show "Oak Tree Times" tells you about the like & dislike, too bad the tv is not easy to make and this is a weekly show. You can see the script of like & dislike for a few people in this thread here (no spoiler story-wise, just a talk on what they like or dislike, though it's quite hilarious, Kassie is interesting :D ).

Some of them give hints during the Harvest Festival too. They're not very specific, but some characters would say they love fruits/crops and that you should bring some to them or that they're not really fond of vegetables and certain fruits.

Thank you this was the kind of information I was looking for. I was playing after I posted this and found that out by accident. I viewed Iris even though I am not dating her. I did not want to just look it up. That is what I considered a spoiler as well. I wanted information if the game gave you hints, if there wasn't then how are you supposed to know without looking through of guide of some sort.
