What is Mistel's problem?

I married Mistel. I find it cute seeing Mistel and my farmer Willow eating together. Whenever he cooks, he talks all friendly. When I cook, I make his favourite food. The 1000 fp gift, that he loves when I give it as a regular gift.

All he did was critisize my cooking. Whatever food I make he hates it, and says not even polite conversation would make it better. Is there something I'm suppose to cook to make him happy, or am I just going to have to let him do all the cooking?

Are the children going to be the same? Willow is pregnant in my game. I would like to see my farmer make the meals for all her family, but that sucks the fun out of it if they are just going to get all moody about my cooking.

Oh dear... Mistel, you have gone and done it again. Tsk-tsk, sis should have taught you better.

I used to look at Mistel as a sweet boy until he called Fritz an Ogre in one of those episodes in Oak Town news on the TV.

I know Fritz can be a bit clumsy and may appear lazy… but calling him an Ogre was a bit too much for me.

What was the star-level of the food? I think that has an effect on their comments about it.

Your cooking skill and the star level of the dish effect how much your family will like it. Anything below 3Stars is bad in my experience.

The more complex the dish, the more they will enjoy it. For example you will definitely get a better comment on a dish like Cabonara that requires multiple ingredients will always be better than a dish like bread which only requires one. Even if you have both at 5Starts.

About three stars, I think. I know the milk for the recipe was 5 star Jersey Milk. The flour was stall bought. The tomatos, I never bothered raisng their star rank, and grew them in my greenhouse.

Maybe that is it. I'll have to try making something with all five star ingredients, to see if that stops his complaining.
