Ceecee added that there are double the requests for candidates in this game that there was in Lost Valley, which means more story and events, and that they focused on character developing more in this game than LV or SoM. Which sounds nice, and I guess we can see that a bit with the more interesting choices they have this time around. Maybe this will be enough for those who don't like the selection? I'm not as bitter as with LV since I do like the choices this time, but it's still a decision I personally disagree with. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if they hadn't used characters that were previously marriageable.
I asked for more info on it, but I haven't gotten an answer yet and I need to sleep. Also my last post was kinda mean, I apologize for that. It's just that with SoS making the only magical candidate for females in ages infertile, and now not having these magical beings being marriageable....this year has not been good for fans for magical candidates.
He is?
Wow my excitement for things just keeps taking hits.

I hadn't gotten one, so I had assumed account validation was done by hand. Turns out my email had put it in the spam section for some reason. It has never done that with any other confirmation email.
But thanks Cherubae, problem solved now.
Also, Ceecee has not given any more info on the romance system despite replying, so they're probably saving that for a later date. My hopes are for dates a la ToTT and some events after marriage, but we'll see.
On another note, hopefully they keep the same kid system they had in lost valley and don't downgrade it, because I actually really liked having to take care of my child and being able to play with them.
So, based on the logo... are the characters on the left half marriagable for the girl and the characters on the right half marriagable for the boy? Because hot damn, them some options?
The boys (red haired guy, guy with green robe and prince guy) are available for the girl and the girls (pink haired girl, green haired girl and Baker girl) for the boy.
So, Gareth and Tabitha aren't marriageable again? Didn't they learn from TLV that many people wanted Gareth and Tabitha to be candidates? That excuse that they game really makes no sense either since if they were so afraid that they would be wasting all that work on a candidate that people wouldn't even marry, why not just replace one of the current bachelors/ettes with Gareth Tabitha since they know that they magical candidates are always popular?
Wow, Natsume, are you really going to do this for the second time? Or do you just want that extra money from a possible DLC?

They're marriageable in Seeds of Memories. Why not let this game be the gateway for new characters to be marriage candidates? I'm not fully invested in Natsume's series yet, but I'd rather Gareth and Tabitha not be like the Witch Princess from the Story of Seasons series where she was a marriage candidate in every game she appeared in.

That's exactly how I feel. After the whole thing with Gareth and Tabitha, why would they take that away again even though it's in SOM? They say they listen to their fans, and I don't think having 8 marriageable candidates with two the audience already knows will hurt them.
Although I do admit that I like all of the marriageable candidates so far-except for the tan one, I just really don't like his face. But that's probably the art style's fault. They all look very different and they finally gave us another flower guy-a buff one, haha. Which makes things all the better. If I get the game I actually might end up marrying all of them, surprisingly. It's weird considering I didn't get that immediate feeling from Trio of Towns but prefer it's art style to this one. But I swear, if Tabitha and Gareth are DLC and cost money to marry I'll probably never touch an HM game ever again. SOS already messed up with only giving us Inari.
Also, was the FeMC doing the whole: "I just picked up a crop and I'm going to hold it up like a trophy for no reason" Thing in the trailer? *screams internally*
Daisuke Tsubasa wrote:Really digging the improvements on their artstyle. Can't wait to see how gameplay is presented. Just glad that there's gonna be an actual town and the whole thing won't just be Minecraft.
I feel this. When I heard there was no town in TLV I was like:
So I'm just going to be a chibi girl living alone in a cabin in the woods? Hah, no thanks! That valley can keep its eternal winter.
I can't stress how much I like the candidates appearances, and the FeMC is too cute to me. Side ponytails are my favorite and I can already tell I'm going to keep her hair that way. I also love her outfit. So far, Cyril, Dean and ALL of the bachelorettes look great. We have green hair, pink hair and red hair-no boring over usage of blondes and auburn haired people. We actually get some fun colors for once. Can I get 4 save files, please? I hope the events are good, haven't played any of the new HM games yet so I don't know how they've been doing in that regard.
Blue Rose wrote:Trailer was pretty good, but CHRIST that woman's voice. Like...just too much. Like, I understand that they're main demographic is probably younger players, but imo I think they put it a little too far and it sounded like they were aiming at like...10 years old and younger kids. Like, there is nothing wrong with a all-age friendly game/ads/whatnot, but imo that was something straight out of Nick Jr. or something.
Otherwise, game seems to be a massive improvement. Still not crazy how it's basically a LOT of the past TLV characters (except marriage candidates, I guess?) cause I think they'd do a lot better actually putting more individual characters versus rehashing old ones (also, it's basically an improved TLV which kind of goes in the same category "more new things."
Still, lots of improvements. Models look much better. Environment looks better but still a little too... boxy, and simplistic for me? Also certain characters models could use some improvement (like Garrett's).
I doubt I'll get it cause it still doesn't look to be my kind of thing, but glad they're stepping it up, quality wise.
How the person in the trailer spoke was a little annoying because of how she held her words I think, but I thought she otherwise had a cute voice and did well. Otherwise, everything is still slightly too boxy and angular for me as well. I want to get the game for the characters and story...I don't think I'm going to enjoy the actual farming aspect.
XxWizardxMollyxX14 wrote:I agree with having portraits. Especially since I like the character designs this time around, it just feels like such a waste to not have the portraits, even if they're just inch by inch boxes.
I agree, especially since I still dislike how the 3D models look. It's like Tides of Destiny all over again, it's just not right. The 3D models look so weird...and it's a waste considering how great everyone looks. I saw the candidates and was like: Holy « Puppy Doodoo » can I have a harem, please?
The terraforming is actually quite enjoyable in TLV, (and not at all like minecraft), I'm sure you'll end up liking it with the new improved tools.
Things will be so much faster, I'm actually hoping they introduce some other improvements to it. Like different materials to put down (in TLV you could only terraform with soil).
Growing crops too, it's rather rewarding even if a bit time consuming (which again, the improved tools will greatly speed up).
Gothicat (anonymous) wrote:For those of you wondering about Gareth and Tabitha, I asked Ceecee about it, and nope, they're not marriageable "at this time". I'm extremely disappointed, seems pointless to have them return so often then. And after people requested them so much, they're gonna do this « Puppy Doodoo » again? Ugh.
Ceecee says they're doing this because in SoM, people mostly married three characters and left the other two, which for them means more choice was useless. But I think that's a « Puppy Doodoo » excuse, even if there are more popular choices, more choice is always better for the consumer. And it's unfair to people who dislike the current choices, like I did with Lost Valley. I only bought it when Luke was added in. I'm luckier this time, but it still leaves a bad impression on me that they're going to stick with this. Especially since it's not like the characters were super well developed or had tons of romantic events even when we had only 3 choices, so why is it so hard to add a couple more? Couple that with them using tons of old characters again, the same house and valley and well....my excitement is dying down very quickly. Seems like they improved a lot, but also were quite lazy in other areas....and that's not good enough to compete with SoS.
Of course "at this time" means they may add them in DLC, but heh...
... well its not even an excuse for having only 3 marriage candidates...
but welp DLC... its the same case with Andrea, and blondie guy (i forgot who) in TLV

Has that been confirmed, or are we just assuming? Natsume's wording was really ambiguous -- "be a boy OR a girl and romance boys AND girls."
