There are several qualities - friendship, stress, health, number of products (quantity), animal product quality (plus), animal fur, and physical size (physique). The Sweet Fodder affects the number of products (max 20), the Spicy Fodder affects the fur, while the Best Fodder affects the chances of the animal producing plus quality. Best Fodder can only be made using the animal feed maker shed farm circle thing.

I'm not sure what "special feed" and "regular treats" you mean, but you are probably raising qualities that you aren't anticipating.

Moist Treats (しっとり) = +10 friendship
Plump Treats (ふっくら) = +3 physique (this is animal physical size. 100 points is a really big animal)
Smooth Treats (なめらか) = +10 fur
Crispy Treats (サクサク) = +10 quality
Puffy Treats (もっちり) = +10 quantity

I've found the easiest thing to do was to build the Chicken King farm circle, which increases quality just by placing it by a barn. It seems to be faster than giving treats. It unlocks after you have completed Farm Advice #2.

When do you start getting the other treats? And would you happen to know when they start producing more with the sweet fodder? Or do you have to have some combination of sweet fodder and puffy treats?

There's no in-game benefit to marrying Inari that I know of, other than you're married to a magical spouse. Inari does have events but they are the same whether you're playing as a boy or as a girl.

The brown foxes' favorite food is Apple. The winter white foxes' favorite food is Carrot.

Tofu is made using the Seasoning Pot Farm Circle.

You can see how much your animals are producing simply by using the notebook inside your farm barns to view the animal product numbers. Giving both Sweet Fodder and Puffy Treats will naturally increase this faster than simply giving Sweet Fodder. It takes 50 points to increase the quantity by one, so it'll go up rather quickly.

The other treats appear at the Westown animal vendor after you participate in at least 1 animal festival.

Well, that's good to know for Inari.

I see. Thanks for answering, even though it was kind of a mundane question lol. They seem to be lacking as a marriage candidate but I suppose it's worth it!

Quick question!

How are those who're unable to speak or read Japanese holding up? I don't mean to offend anyone; asking out of pure curiosity and interest. :) (I'm also unable to speak or read Japanese).

I'm holding up by replaying past Bokujou Monogatari series that I've either started over because I was unhappy with my file or playing ones that I had given up on and decided to give them another chance like IoH and DS. Reading about other players' experiences with the game here helps as well. It helps with my decisions and the news is entertaining to follow.

Edit: I now realize this question was different than I thought. Apologies.

Soooooo how are the horses in this game? Do they do anything or are they still doomed like previous games to be nothing more than something to ride on? Just wondering cause I've unlocked horses, but I'm debating if I should buy one at the moment because if all you can do is ride them I don't want to spend the money yet. Also is their care the same as the previous game? Where you don't have to do anything and they still end up loving you xD

Knowledge of the previous 2 HM/SOS games + Google translate on my ipod is getting me through the bulk of the game with little trouble. I just wanted to tink around though, I don't care about getting married or the nuance of what is going on much (since I'll play in English when it comes out as well). When you buy stuff and in your inventory just about everything has a picture, so it's a lot easier than I anticipated to do the basic day-to-day game.

The horses are pretty much the same. You buy one horse to use as transportation. It has its own stable attached to the outside of your farmhouse. If you feed it every day, it is very easy to increase its hearts. There is no horse-related festivals either, so the friendship is just symbolic.

The random events won't trigger when you enter areas while riding a horse, so I use it to bypass triggering events until I'm ready to document them  Events do trigger while you're walking a pet though. I've even had a random event trigger on a gift-giving festival (e.g., valentine's day)

Haha I figured as much, I still want to hold out the hope that they will bring horse racing back xD. Will the horse automatically go back to its stable no matter where you leave it like in SOS or do you have to put it back yourself?

There's a menu option when you "talk" to the attached stable to call the Horse back from wherever you left it, so don't worry about the Horse getting lost.

My biggest complaint about the horse is that it wanders when you dismount from it. You can get off the horse, talk to a merchant, and then turn around to find the horse has walked across the area. I've wasted much time running around, trying to find that damn horse, because it decided to wander far away while I was interacting at a shop. Freak'n annoying. The same thing occurs when riding back to your farm for something; go inside the house for a second, and when you come back out the horse is who knows where. At least on the farm you can call it from the stable, but there isn't a whistle or some other item while in town that serves the same function. Sometimes I just give up and pay to use the town transportation network rather than waste additional in-game time searching for that damn horse.

The camera zoom only works while on your farm, so you can't even use that feature to help you find it.

I can understand maybe going a little ways away, but it is way extreme. It could of been given a lower-screen map icon so you could SEE where it is, but instead you have to run around town and hope you bump into it.

THIS.

I have lost count how much I am going crazy just to find where my darned horse has wandered to after I left it for a while for ie. mining/talking to townspeople. Sometimes, I even have to load my save file since I have wasted an in game hour or so just to find my horse whereabout.

I really really wish that they could bring back the whistling feature like in BTN so that you can call your horse back to you :(

Else, since they are already serve no purpose aside of being a cute method of transportation, they could have as well let the horse being a stationery creature and stay still exactly where you have left it.

His green heart event:

Thank you. And what are the right choices for those events? I can't read Japanese so I can't even begin to guess which choice is right.

Spoiler:
Light Blue Event:
何か作りましょうか?

Blue Event (if you are referring to his 2nd heart event):
手をつないでほしい

Green Event (if you are really referring to his green event/3rd love event):
Both answers are positive response, but いつもどおりでいいですよ will give more LP bonus and attention points (required points for reversal confession/proposal)

Also, if you are interested to know what's going on during those events, I have written summary for both Ford's blue and green event here and here.

I also warmly recommend you to check this page on wiki for future reference and instant answer regarding ie. how to trigger an event or right answer.
