And speculation that a salarian squadmate was the one who was scrapped because he wasn't as developed as the others, but I did find out our pilot is a salarian. I think we read the same interview. I would link the I review now, but I'm on my phone currently.
I got paid today and bought the digital deluxe edition of Andromeda! So excited for when it comes out!
While having a Salarian pilot is great it would be nice to have more alien races in our squad. 2 are human, not including ourselves. Although I am sure that will change with DLC eventuallyyyyy.

I think having at least 2 humans in our squad is common nowadays since the trilogy had at least 2 humans on our squad (Kaidan and Ashley in ME1, Miranda, Jacob, Kasumi and Zaeed in ME2, and Ashley/Kaidan and James in ME3) I think we have more humans so players can have a sense of feeling with other humans in the squad. I do wish we had more aliens in our squad. Oh well.
If they do, hopefully it won't be a day one purchase less they stir up people again and be reminded of Sebastian and Javik. I have doubts we'll have DLC party members again.
Edit: Saw Michael Gamble post about a loyalty mission in Andromeda and he censored the name of the squad member. It has five letters and he mentioned that if it was Vetra or Drack he would have said so. I would post the tweet, but, well, there's language that's against rules.
I mean at least we know that the potentially(?) last squad member is one of the new races since it was already confirmed we have a new race character as one.
So that'll give us 2 humans, 4 aliens which is a good spread imo.
Also, according to that interview if you keep the default names of Scott and Sara the characters will actually say your name out loud. Anyone going to stick with those, or choose your own?
Having a Salarian pilot is going to be awesome though!

Now that I know that I'm looking forward to using the default appearances and names. Lately with BioWare's characters that have their last name acknowledged I've been keeping their default appearance for two files. I guess this also addresses one of my concerns regarding having Sara and Scott calling them by their first names instead of how the Hawke family handled Hawke. (Son, daughter, brother, sister or no acknowledgment of family)
Ooh, if the name thing is true that's really interesting - I hadn't come up with a name for Scott so I might just stick with that. I'm planning to play as Fem Ryder though and I already have a name in mind for her. I'll probably change the default appearance too, but I really like how both Ryders look so who knows!
I saw the cinematic trailer playing in a shop the other day and almost missed the cashier calling me up to pay because I was so transfixed!
Ooh, definitely gonna use the default name then. Being called by first names feels more intimate all around, and I don't have anything against the name, so...!
I noted much earlier that I would post my N7 sweater/hoodie/shirt that I got from Bioware but I have been a bit lazy so here is a photo of me in my N7 hoodie.... that I wear like everyday and it is my favoritest of favorites:
Spoiler:
I super recommend this hoodie if you are looking to sport the N7 logo. I have already had a few people recognize what it is from and it helps me know that those people are immediately very very cool people.
