The 2nd Bioware Games Thread - Andromeda Done
My first sisryder is a mess. She looks like suvis twin and i named her "Flow Ryder" which sounds waaaay too close to Flo Rida. But she's cute and im very happy how she turned out, despite that.
Its kind of a slow start for me atm and still trying to figure out various mechanics, but otherwise its fun. Just a very different tone than the trilogy. Voice acting is A+. And while out of sync a lot, Tbh the facial movements and animations don't really bother me as much or affect me at all. But the dead eye look is strong and needs to be tweaked.
Also am I the only one who is a little ??? @ the lighting in the game. Like certain parts are too bright but i don't want to turn the brightness down to where its too dark.
Just got Vetra and Ohhh boy what a babe. /swoooons
Also I'm surprised how low-key Cora has been so far. Like ive seen more of liam compared to her and so far she really doesn't seem that interesting.
Suvi is cute but looks too much like my Ryder lol. Need to officially meet Gil.

So far the game feels very different than the trilogy. The biggest change is the cover for me, you just enter it automatically. Also, I don't know how it happened, but Ryder went to the right side of the screen while shooting instead of the standard left. Felt off when attacking enemies. Thank goodness it reset when she died; I have no idea how to recover health.
Starting off as an engineer essentially; got overload, assault turret, energy drain and a passive skill. All of which I love.
Overall, I'm not sure how I feel about the game. I played for about two hours and I definitely want more. I need to play more of the game before developing an official opinion on the title.

You can toggle which way your Ryder faces. Not that I can remember the keybind off the top of my head... haha!
I can certainly see how some of the animations look really goofy, like Cora's walk when she follows Mr. Salarian to his office. Lol! Another gripe is that the game loads SLOW AS « Snuggly Bunny » even on an SSD! But overall it doesn't seem too bad. I went with the leader specialization since being able to buff the squad sounded neat. But you have free reign over what you pick anyway so I went with Invasion, Overload, and Team support to start off. Combat seems spotty with the way cover works, half the time I can't get it to do what I want. ;-;
On the romance side of things, I know I wanna seduce an Alien! But I don't think any of them can compete with Garrus so I can't be disappointed nonetheless.
My Ryder if anyone is curious
Edit: You can change the direction you face with ALT. I couldn't find it in the keymap so, should be the same for you too. :p

If you do upgrades on the Nomad it pretty much turns into the Mako :p
I'm actually loving it so far. Can definitely agree the level of jank is too much at times but other than that no big complaints here. Feels like ME1 to me in a lot of ways. As long as the story doesn't turn into a complete « Cow Poopoo » show I'm pleased.
Even characters that I'm wasn't fond of too much (Cora) are growing on me after talking to them more. Though PeeBee is definitely my least favorite squad member at this point.
My biggest con
(No story spoilers)
Jaal is <3 <3 though, love him so far

Spoiler:
The more I drive the nomad the more I like it. Peebee is also my least favorite character but mostly because she's nothing like I bad expected her to be. She may very well grow on me I'm just bummed that she's not more goofy. Liam is awesome though!! Just unlocked Jaal and he seems cool enough, excited to learn more. Impossible not to flirt with Suvi, I mean look at her. Having a blast so far!
I'm coming to that same conclusion with the nomad; I keep forgetting it has two modes.
I like flirting with Peebee. Jaal isn't what I expected; hoping to learn more about him and hoping to like him more.
So far, I kind of feel like the side quests are pretty BioWare standard; the task ones in particular are pretty annoying.
I definitely find the gameplay is the best out of the four games.
I feel like this holds true just like the Hinterlands did in Inquisition; don't spend all of your time on the first world. Seriously, it's what I did for most of today and it nearly drained me trying to do everything.

I prefer the nomad to the mako, I'm not flipping around as much and as likely to fly off the edge of something, it's definitely an improvement.
Also Favorite character romance so far is Jaal (I've seen reyes, Liam, and vetra from youtube), least favorite character (even though i still like her) is peebee.
Yeah the lighting can definitely be weird, also the review slams are a little undeserving imo, the open worlds (while still boring in some ways) aren't the horrors of the quests in dragon age inquisition. But it definitely gives me ME1 vibes rather than ME2 and ME3
