The 2nd Bioware Games Thread - Andromeda Done

I left the game downloading at home so hopefully this evening I get to jump in and start playing! I am...slightly concerned as to what I may find

Enjoying it a lot more now. Starting to get a handle on everything, just one hell of a learning curve.

For those of you who finished the main quest on Eos

Did you pick science or military as the main focus for the colony post? I chose science. Military is all good and stuff but with a new area u need nerds to figure that « Cow Poopoo » out and they needed food/resources asap.

Will comment on characters later but so far enjoying them. Really liking a lot of the nonsquadmate crew too. Especially lexi. I can respect her krogan squad thirst game.

Peebee isn't bad, but she's just really...not my thing. Wasn't as bad as i was expecting, but no thnx.

I chose research. We're in a new galaxy and meant to be making peace with the other species; I think military would have been a bad sign.

That mission First Murderer, I released him. Hopefully this won't come back to bite me in the butt because I'm hoping he just wanted to kill that one guy for the better of the group and isn't going to turn into a mass murderer.

while I don't think he'll turn into a mass murderer, i think there is a possibility he might slip up again buuuut what can you do.

Was disappointed we couldn't punish him for attempt at murder tho. @_@

I thought it was a good quest despite that. Gave me witcher 3 vibes.

Except for the task quests, the side quests do have a Witcher 3 feel after playing some more.

On eos:

I picked research, also this applies to all stations you have from then on, it doesn't significantly change the story from what I've seen.

On AI (whether to spare it or kill it)

The best outcomes for this one is to either kill it or give it to the angara, I picked the worst option (giving her to sam) where there is no gain, just efvra telling you that you screwed up in taking the information of the AI.

On first murder:

Exile is actually the better option, if you just release him he'll go back into cryo cause his past comes to bite him in the butt.

Okay, so I got a Liam quest and I didn't expect this result.

Spoiler:

Jaal and Liam are insulting each other by making each other's armor and while Liam is shirtless, JAAL WAS COMPLETELY NAKED!

Edit: I went back to Eos because I'm a completionist and I found out something

The monolith puzzles become a million times easier when u realize

And I'm an ace at sudoku.

0he of the bigger side missions for voeld took me a near damn 2 hours cause i kept dying and also (no spoilers but just in case)

fuuuuuuuuuck prefects. Them and their damn floaty ball shield. One of them took me 30 minutes to kill.

I love how vetra is one big giant meat shield, in terms of combat abilities. <3

ARGH! The first hard choice I came across!

So I'm on Voeld and you have to choose between destroying a kett facility and sacrificing angara lives OR free the angara at the cost of the kett using the facility again. I freed the angara because I need to get on their good side, but DAMN was it hard to choose!

Finally got the game, been playing for a few hours. I went with Preset 1 Sara Ryder, didn't take any screenshots because she looks exactly the same as every other preset 1 Ryder lol. She's cute though!

So far I'm really liking the game. I honestly went into the game expecting the animations to be abysmal but so far, other than a few that I laughed at, they're pretty typical Bioware and not bothering me at all.

My only complaints atm are the movement feels a bit clunky and the galaxy map is slooow. Like it's pretty, but wow it takes so long to actually do anything that I don't even feel like bothering.

Also yes @ the super weird lighting. Sometimes it's blindingly bright and sometimes it's like cutscenes are taking place in a black abyss.

How are you guys feeling about the locations after Eos? Because Eos is a biit of a bore.. It's probably not helping that the completion in me is trying to do every single quest there.

I'm comparing it to the Hinterlands from DAI; don't stay there! The two worlds after are MUCH better. What is it about first locations that just suck the life out of you in the latest entries from BioWare's series?

Yeah, seriously don't stay in Eos and 100% it in one shot. You have to come back eventually for some other quests so just take a break and do other stuff/continue the main storyline otherwise you're gonna burn yourself out
