I'm not hyped at all for Splatoon 2 since I had Zero interest in the first one for several reasons. TBH, I haven't really been hyped for a SoS or Harvest Moon game in a long time. The 32G and paid online service is disappointing too.
However, Fire Emblem Warriors and an awesome looking Mario game along with Breath of the Wild is so exciting!

i'm pretty psyched and waited all day for the presentation at 11pm my time.
the main reason i will get it will be the new Zelda game, which will keep me busy until the Octopath and new Fire Emblem games come out.
i am not super happy with the starting lineup, as it's very limited, and i honestly just could get the new Zelda on my Wii U; that being said, i want the switch anyway because i love Nintendo.
not gonna pay for online, but i'm not toooooo happy about that. i guess it'll be okay if they have a seriously incredible lineup for online gaming, but right now, they don't. there's splatoon 2, which i'm not interested in at all, then some of those 1v1 games like Arms and One Two Switch, which i also don't care about because they involve me moving. i have the gym for moving, when im playing video games i want to sit in one place in the dark with no one bothering me :') but that's just me.
overall though im super excited, especially for zelda, and i will definitely be getting it. waiting to pre-order to see if they do a zelda bundle, but if they don't, i will be pre-ordering.

Don't have the time to get it when it comes out in March, but I can see it as a Christmas present for myself!
Very dumb question: Do I have to own a tv to charge the Switch? I understand that it has its dock to charge in, but does the dock need to be connected to a tv to charge? I've never owned a home console before and I don't plan on getting a tv. I just want to play games on the Switch like a portable console.

^ you shouldn't need a tv to use the switch. I used my Wii U without a tv for over a year and it was fine.
Excited for Xenoblade 2 but the character designs are awful. I'd honestly rather have a continuation of Xenoblade X which left on a massive cliffhanger and had a stronger sci-fi aesthetic (there are almost no sci-fi JRPGs outside of the Xeno series). The first Xenoblade ended on a pretty conclusive note too. Looking forward to it regardless but yeah.

i'm excited for it! i'll be home when it comes out, but i can justify more getting it for my birthday than just because (also 3ot should be coming out around when the switch is released, so i'll have that to tide me over to the end of the semester)
really excited for the fire emblem game! never played a zelda game but the graphics look great!

@PeachyKeen: Maybe Breath of the Wild could be your first if you're up for it. Zelda games are great and can keep you occupied for some time if you have the time to do so.
Meanwhile, I already pre ordered my Switch, which will be the colored one. Eeeee! So excited! Also, I can't WAIT for that Fire Emblem direct. Hopefully Fire Emblem Warriors will have more of a variety of characters instead of mostly Awakening and Fates characters. ^^;

It's not even the outfits it's the generic as hell anime faces. I hate that look, it belongs to the Tales games. Xeno X still needed some work on theirs (Tanaka's style is hard to replicate in 3D) but they were way better, Xenoblade had really bad textures on the characters but had an interesting style, and Xenosaga 3 did an excellent job toeing the line between stiff doll faces and overly-anime style. Like what happened man.Bluie wrote:Yeah, I'm not a huge Xenoblade fan at all, but what is even going on with half of these kid's outfits?Nurse Fin wrote:

On the flipside, the (new?) Manado(?) looks pretty cool, so there's that.
I'd say these faces are like Xenosaga Episode II-tier. It won't stop me from enjoying the game but eughh.
Fair enough, but I still can't get over the weird helmet thing on the back of the MC plus his assless pantaloons.Nurse Fin wrote:It's not even the outfits it's the generic as hell anime faces. Mildly excited but gonna wait for more games before i really get it. Mainly for SoS/Skyrim. Possibly Legend of Zelda. I like the LoZ games and they're always good/looks good but it's not ever "enough to buy a whole new system" level of good for me.
I do love the concept of the switch tho, ngl. Looking forward to how that all works out.

i do agree that the starting lineup could be better, and i think that by the holiday season they'll have a lot more gamesBlue Rose wrote:Mildly excited but gonna wait for more games before i really get it.
