Nintendo Switch Hype and Impressions!
I definitely won't be getting it at launch and will hold off on deciding if it's a purchase I will make at all. There are a lot of things I like about it and a few things I am waiting to receive complete confirmation on with user reviews (mostly the handheld functionality part of it which interests me the most). It does look promising though, excited to see all that it has to offer.

I do want the Switch at launch, but it seems to be nigh impossible to find one in my country right now, so i'm willing to wait a month or so until they restock.
Though, if anyone spoils Breath of the Wild for me in the wait period, there will be blood.
There are plenty of games coming out on the system that I want already, so it's a done deal for me. Specifically;
Breath of the Wild (Duh)
I Am Setsuna (Wanted to play this for awhile now - No PS4, no gaming PC)
Disgaea 5 Complete (Again, wanted to play, but no PS4)
Dragon Quest Heroes I & II (Dragon Quest is one of my favourite video game series)
Dragon Quest XI (Ditto above)
Fire Emblem Warriors (I have high hopes for this)
Project Octopath Traveler (It's being made by the Bravely Default team, that's more than enough for me to buy)
I can understand people waiting though too. I have a feeling that when Mario comes out this late 2017 (I'm guessing it'll be around American Thanksgiving - Christmas) that it'll be getting a bundle to encourage more buyers. I mean, the NES mini was a crazy Christmas item this year, partially because it was so hard to find, but still, Mario sells, kids love Mario, lots of Switches under Christmas trees.

I want a Switch so badly. Like, dang, I want it on launch but I don't have $300 on a console + $100+ on a a game plus Pro Controller. I'll have to get BOTW on U then get it on Switch at a later date.
I don't get the criticism for ARMS. It looks super fun. I really love the character designs and everything. 1, 2. 3, Switch however completely stumps me. I wish it was at least a pack-in. It looks decent fun in a pack-in tech demo sort of way, but I don't wanna actually buy it.

I honestly just planned on walking into Gamestop on launch day and asking for a neon Switch. I doubt it'll be the sort of system where you NEED to preorder if you want one on release. I got my 3DS on release with no issue. Then again, I suppose it depends on your area and country.

Well, it seems that here, our EB Games are only getting so many Switches for preorders, and that's it. Sure, it'll be restocked, but getting a Switch day one? Not happening.Anonymous Fish wrote:I honestly just planned on walking into Gamestop on launch day and asking for a neon Switch. Yeah, pre-orders are sold out here as well so I don't know about just walking in and grabbing one, unless you plan to camp out on the chance they do have any extra.
As for me now that all the prices have been released I have my doubts I'll get the Switch at all, tbh. It looks interesting but I can't justify spending $400 CAD for the console alone. And when extra controllers are $100 and games are $80 apiece, I think my console gaming days may be coming to a close because I just cannot justify spending that on games (as much as I'd like to, haha). I play my older games all the time and already have quite a ridiculous backlog just on my 3DS and PC, so it just feels unnecessary for me personally.
But as for the console itself it looks awesome! I really hope that it gets a ton of great games and does well.

^ I am! Damn loonie.
I also just haven't had a new console in ages, so the price of games and everything is a bit of a shock regardless because I'm over here buying retro and 3DS games, haha. But you never know, if I wasn't saving pennies to possibly go back to school I'd probably cave. Just kind of not a good money-throwing time for me, alas.

I probably won't get one, since the game I want (BOTW *SQUEE*) is coming out on the WIiU too. I'd like one at some point in the future, but I was only just able to talk my mother into letting me preorder BOTW and 3oT, so it definitely won't be the NEAR future.
I have to laugh at myself; it's been a bit since that BOTW release trailer, and I'm STILL squealing over it.
