Everyone tends to get off-topic fairly regularly, Lenna36, so no worries. It's not something that matters unless it goes on so long that the topic gets so confused that it gets locked, right?

Anyway, that this thread has shot off in two off-topic directions in the last day or so probably means it's just about outlived it's usefulness.

That's something I thought about from the start and didn't bring up: the gold house! Has ANYONE said they like it, yet? Personally, I hate it a little bit. It's so gaudy and weirdly shaped, to my eyes. I don't think the gold house was popular in SoS, either. I wonder why they keep bringing that theme back. Does it have a cult following or something? Lol.

Well I haven't been posting for that long. Lurking around for a year, but never posted. I maybe in trouble though because I started a party on another thread.
I haven't heard of anyone liking it. Is it some sort of status thing? Maybe we should compare the construction cost of each to see if that's why it's still around. Sort of a "Hey look at me I'm RICH!" showing off for visitors.
Edit: Okay finally got a chance to compare. It looks like it's a status symbol to me. The golden pearls required is insane. You would have to be on Dessie's good side to get that many. Better start offering those strawberries right away. The gold material requirement for the western mansion is a third of what's required for the gold house. That's counting interiors and exteriors for both remolds. The price is also the highest for the gold house.

My two house choices are Japanese Mansion, and Under The Sea.

Does anyone besides me suspect Ludus of being Dr. Who? The houses all look bigger on the inside than they are on the outside. Who else can bend the laws of physics like that?

Depends on how many books there are. (L-Space)

@Arcy, I'm always glad to meet a fellow reader. Just don't use the m-word around the Librarian okay.
Is it hard to make proportional buildings in games? This isn't the first time this happened.

I think it's kind of funny but I also like it better this way. If they made the inside of the house huge and the outside to match, it would take up way too much room on your farm. Vice versa, if they made the outside of the house small (like when you first get it) and then make the interior match, it'll be too crammed and hard for your character to walk around. So there's justification for it. Have to sacrifice realism for convenience in video games a lot.
Anyways, my favorite design is the music hall one I think because hello that bar?? That is a classy « Mr.Gourmet's hat » looking interior. Otherwise my second favorite is the modern Japanese style

The music hall one is super classy, but what tipped it up to tie into first place is that the record player actually works. Hot damn, that's a nice setup. I also love the wizard house. The jungle house I'm kinda meh about, but man I love the living room so damn much. I pretty much like all of them except the pet one, as well as the gold one (wayyy too much effort for something that doesn't even look good, imo). I'll probably end up with the music hall in one file and the wizard in the other.
@Size: Yeahh, but if they made it a more realistic size, everything else would have to be bigger, too, which just sounds like too much of a strain for a 3DS game (I think) that I'd rather go into something else (also having to walk through a map that big sounds awful). Besides, I think the odd sizes fit well with the cutesy theme they've got going on. :'D

I absolutely adore it when my geekeries overlap.
...though technically he'd be The Doctor, not Dr. Who <ahem>. Or at least one of the Time Lords who built the TARDISes, 'cos the Doctor just stole his.

Wait. What if Trent from DS Cute was Dr. Who? I mean, they did literally call him 'Doctor' in MFoMT.

I only had the chance to watch one or two episodes. The only reason I know the reference because of a Star Trek commentary. They admitted to being inspired by Dr. Who for one of their ship designs.
There we go Time Lord Ludus! I like the sound of that.

Get thee to Netflix, with haste! I believe the 2005 revival eps are up there (except the last season or two). A lot of the classic episodes used to be up there as well, not sure if they still are. The older episodes are wonderfully cheesy, even by early sci-fi standards. I have a copy of every episode that still exists (sadly, a lot of early TV shows were simply wiped and lost to time because the film was really expensive but resusable).
