I haven't played it since I don't play digital PC games and the U version got canned. I plan on picking up the Switch version asap. I am interested in it because it reminds me of SNES and 64. I feel deprived of a HM console game so Stardew will quell my thirst until it comes out.

Ok so I kiiiinda now own Stardew Valley for the PS4. The one problem is that I don't have a PS4.

I mostly bought it as a gift for my brother, who has one (my ps account is also registered to it).

I guess I can hope that they will one day port it to the Vita and offer cross but for ps4 owners :(

I'll probably pick it up on Switch once it releases.

Depends on the price of it though.

I completely disagree that the characters don't have soul. In fact, I think SV has one of the most interesting, well-rounded casts of any video game ever. To those who only started it and stopped because of the dialogue, you're really missing out on some intense character development! And I quite like most of the dialogue, not really sure what there is to complain about. It's definitely not a coincidence that the ones who say the characters are boring are the ones who only played the game for one day. It'd be sloppy if all of the character development happened in the beginning of the game...

That's one of the things I love about this game, it isn't just the love interests who have a lot of cut scenes and problems. Stardew Valley is by far one of my favourite games now, I'm so glad I gave it a chance.

I know what you mean. I think George has interesting character development, even if I hate it.
Spoiler:
If you marry a character of the same « Chicken Hugging », he's not thrilled by it and doesn't understand it. Eventually, he comes to understand that it's just love no matter the gender. I wish there was a scene or something with him and Alex should you be male and dating/marry his grandson, which I did. Oh well, missed opportunity.

Oooh I didn't know that! My file is in a same « Chicken Hugging » marriage, but I don't talk to George much, so I'll have to try that. And I've been considering marrying Alex in the future, with a male MC, and I agree that it'd be cool if there was a specific scene for them.

Alex is a character who definitely grew on me. At first he just seems like a shallow jock, but then when you get to know more about him it's really rewarding. I love how SV seems to have a lot of trope characters, but many of those stereotypes get turned on their head. He's a sweeeetie
