That little 'prime incentive' area under the product info changes every time you load the site. Sometimes it features a different incentive.

Okay, so this is a little weird. I have two Amazon physical preorders (don't judge me, I have plans...).

The one I made FIRST back when the localization was first announced says it's destined to arrive on 2/28.

The one I made about a month ago (because again...plans. And plush) "We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate."


I still expect them both to arrive (if I don't cancel one...I'm a farming hoarder and yes I have deep shame about it), but it's odd that the tracking is so different.

Well, that kind of blows. Lucky me, my Prime expires March 2nd. ;l

If it was shipped on time then I'd get the discount but of course not. (on Amazon.ca, just so nobody is confused). Might just switch my pre-order to EB Games then, I guess. At least I'd get it on time.

edit: K, so I checked with Amazon (gotta love that chat feature) before switching, which is good because EB Games (.ca) is now saying online that it's out of stock so idk if I could even pre-order there now (maybe in store?). Had a mini heart-attack when checking my emails today. I preordered through Best Buy, since I have the gamer's club discount there and some rewards certificates, but I got this from Gamestop in my mail and-

I'm PRETTY SURE it was a mistake because the website still says the 28th and that would be super weird but seeing that made my heart jump.
If it were legit, I wouldn't mind coughing up the extra ten bucks and switching to gamestop to get the game a week early. Alas.

Customer service said orders for release day delivery are fulfilled on a first come, first serve basis, so it makes sense your older order will get fulfilled first, based on what I was told, at least.

...welp. My partner's amazon student prime expired, so I lost the special 31 dollar price. Luckily it kept the shipping price and 'original 2 dollar discount' :/

I was told by an Amazon rep that you still get the Prime discount if you pre-order before it expires. Maybe contact support about it? Then again, each rep is pretty finicky with Prime and what it can/can't do.

On that note, I ordered from Amazon and was given misinformation about Prime and pre-ordering, so support is hit or miss really.

Yeah, last year when my student Prime expired I still got the discount and two-day shipping for TPHD even though it expired like a month before release date. Have they changed this?

I've gotten confirmation twice from reps that this hasn't changed, that if you pre-order while Prime is active, you still get the Prime price even if you end up not renewing it later.

N'aw I'm not talking about the normal -2 dollars prime discount, or the free shipping (which I still have both), I mean the special blue banner saving that comes up on the side of the product information page.

It literally says right there that it expires if you don't have Prime at time of shipping. It wouldn't be worth contacting them about it. (Though it is silly there are *three* different types of prime discounts, 2/3rds of which transfer over. That just kind of over complicates things...)
With prime the box would look like this.

Technically I could still get that price if I wanted, because I wasn't using my amazon for the pre-order (woops) and my amazon does still have prime. But, I'd rather not backlog my order by canceling and re-placing on different accounts :/

My speculation is that they got a certain amount in stock initially and are waiting for additional stock before they can confirm the ship date for any purchases that were after all original stock was depleted. It's literally a week away and mine still says pending ship date but I am remaining hopeful, mostly because I really don't want to go to GameStop.

Mine is also still pending from Amazon. Then again, I pre-ordered a bit late (January 19) and it'll be shipping to my PO Box instead of a physical address.

Whelp, I caved. I was at EB Games for unrelated reasons, and when I got to the cash, I asked if they could still get me a preorder a week away. The nice cashier looked it up and said they could. So, long story short, looks like I'm on the capybara plush bandwagon, yay!

Ahh, I'm tempted to rush down to the nearest GameStop and place a pre-order there, but then I'll have to pay $13+ extra for it than I'm paying at Amazon... And I've had super bad luck with them and pre-order bonuses.

I normally order from Amazon with Prime, but I actually really want the game on the release date, so I may go digital and get a physical copy at a later date. I haven't really decided yet, though.
