Pre-order & Shipping Discussion
I honestly think they are slowly getting shipments of the game in and once they do they can then guarantee same day delivery (or a sooner ship date) depending on the time you ordered.
I ordered February 12th so I waited pretty late to pre-order.. But we do have the whole Prime Now thing in my city where you can order and get items as early as an hour so I probably lucked out with my location too.

So I finally start working for Amazon on Sunday woo. Because I worked with them in 2015 I had a discount code I could use.. So not only did I have Amazon Prime, I'm getting it release day and a bit cheaper so I spend 30 for the game. Sadly I'm not working in the fulfillment center where the product is so I can't pick it up after work but still pretty neat!
On a side note when I ordered the game two days ago I was supposed to wait for an email to say I could get it on release day. Being curious as I was I went on an old account and 'ordered' the game and the shipping options was to get it on release day (account wasn't with prime). So I hopped back on my prime account and was able to change it to release day order instead of the free two day shipping. I have a sneaking suspicion that these notices come up at random times.

Decided not to make a new topic, but I got an email from Videogamesplus.ca saying my order has been updated to "shipped" status which confuses me. Gave me a tracking number and when I clicked it, it says estimated delivery for the 24th. xD How does the work... Also, online retailers already have the game then? -scratches head-

Saw a thread on gamefaqs dated from 2 weeks ago stating a retailer had broken street date and was selling early. Don't know if there's any thruth to it or it's the usual urban legend-type deal surrounding game releases, but it does seem to indicate retailers might already have stock. Not gonna lie, I'm a wee bit jealous, though I'm against breaking street date on retailers' part.
Maybe videogamesplus.ca is making sure it'll get there on release day by shipping early since the mail can at times be slow? And it's a Tuesday release, and we don't have week-end mail service up here.

My game shipped today but arrival date is still 28th. It's slowly killing me since I'm 10 minutes away from the amazon fulfillment center.. (Well more like twenty with traffic but still). I noticed GameFAQ said some people got their games early here in Austin, is that true? I'm desperate enough to drive down there if it meant having the game early..
Makes sense; they do have to get it early so that they can ship it on time ('early'), otherwise customers couldn't get it at their door on release-day!Linear wrote:Decided not to make a new topic, but I got an email from Videogamesplus.ca saying my order has been updated to "shipped" status which confuses me. The possibility of getting the game before street-date is, eum definitely something, though. I almost always get packages a day early because of how close I live to an Amazon warehouse, so I really might get my game on Monday instead of Tuesday.

That could be a possibility as I've ordered from them (videogamesplus.ca) before and they never offered release day shipping to BC. Ebgames always ships late the night before release but sometimes lists pre-orders way later than VGP so pros and cons for both.Rancherita wrote:Saw a thread on gamefaqs dated from 2 weeks ago stating a retailer had broken street date and was selling early. I, I, I will boil over in some form of wanting my copy too. I go digital so early doesn't happen. I also live in a place that's ahead time zone wise, so it's the 1st here when the game finally comes out.
...I'm like this in every video game release. The last few days are just so hard. Time goes slooooowly.
But I hope everyone enjoys their game. People enjoying the series I like makes me really happy.
