My Amazon.ca order, slated to ship March 3 and arrive March 7 to 9, has now entered the 'preparing for shipment' stage. So it MAY arrive on the 28th, after all. I'll see where my package is on the day of release...small chance, but I might not have to go digital, since they usually send Prime packages through UPS rather than regular mail.
I live in the country...but we're a fairly straight shot five to six hours away from Mississauga, from where we usually get all the stuff, and about four hours from Montreal, where all the stuff that doesn't come from Mississauga comes from. So...it's possible. I think. But UPS can deliver at any time of day...I'm at the pitiful point of not being able to wait a minute past noon, if that is when the digital unlocks, here.

I'll probably start refreshing the eshop a few hours before the official release time (part of me still hopes for a miracle haha)

I'm getting a bit nervous about my game. It has said "shipping soon" since the 24th, yet it says I will get the delivery tomorrow by 8 pm. I ordered from Amazon.com and got upgraded to release day shipping (had two day shipping originally). I'm flipping out! D: I need to check the bank soon to see if they've taken the money out (I think they have). I'm also worried I won't get a capybara plush. Is there a way to know if you're getting one or is everyone getting one?

Amazon.com is supposed to be giving out the plush for pre-orders. Amazon.ca is not.
You should definitely contact customer service if you have concerns, though, Anon. They answer pretty quickly. You could also do 'chat' rather than email if you want a greater likelihood of speaking to someone who is actually in the country rather than from a service in India or elsewhere, though no matter how you contact customer service they usually bend over backward to be able to answer your questions. IME, anyway.

it is so surreal, because just a few weeks ago I was wondering when the game would be released and how long I would have to wait and now it's just one more day

I'm excited for it just because it's something for me to do and the game made a lot of improvements on the last SoS game which I really liked, but I think some people are kind of hyping this game up a bit too much. Granted I'm dead inside so not a whole lot gets me worked up anymore, but I don't think this is going to be like the second coming of « Mayor Thomas » like I feel some people have the expectation of it being lol like I'm sure it's going to be good and enjoyable, but it's still a farming sim game with dating aspects. Not trying to like... « Cow Poopoo » on anyone's parade either I just know there's going to be a lot of disappointed complaints from people because it doesn't meet their expectations.
But yeah I'm pretty excited to get the game too! Ordering stuff online is nice because it makes almost any day feel like Christmas ;'D
I actually am one of the few here who was not a fan of SoS (just took too long to get going for me, and the grindiness turned me off) so I think I have pretty low expectations. As long as it's better than that I think I'll like it.
In general though I do think it's better to have low expectations. I get rewarded with something good more often than not when I have those.
But yes, online ordering really does make make mail feel more special!

Regarding levels of hype...they ARE pretty crazy. And there's no way there won't be ANYone who gets let down, but...it almost doesn't matter how good the game turns out to be, in my case. I didn't like SoS that much and I still spent over 450 hours on it...it became a 'comfort' game that I'd play if I didn't feel good or was stressed out or etc, because I find it soothing...like re-reading an old book.
Trio already definitely has a bunch of features that are clearly superior (to my taste, that is) to SoS, though I've also noticed a few things that were changed that I wish they hadn't, and etc. I decided to go ahead and get super hyped on this (even though it's something I never do, I'm often laughed at a little by friends and family for being way too ambivalent about everything) because even if the game isn't as great as it seems from the details, it's still going to become my new comfort game, and I need it, as I'm starting to just get bored with SoS. It doesn't have to be the most supercallafragilisticexplalidotious game ever to keep the hype from disappointing me. I'm just looking for a game I want to cozy into.
So I guess long story short, my excitement is high, but my expectations are actually not? I'm basically expecting it to be a game I'll like a little more than I liked SoS.
I also find it promising that people who already HAVE the Japanese game and have put a good amount of time into it are still a bit hyped just to get the English copy. So I continue to check my amazon.ca order repeatedly to see if it has updated from 'preparing for shipment', which it has not...so it's going to be a last-minute decision to buy from the e-shop if at noon tomorrow there is still no definite info, I guess. I'm fine with that, though.

...not sure how shipping later equals getting it a day earlier. But it's a relief because now I can play while at my health check-up and busing home tomorrow! Assuming it's not just lying to me, anyway.
/furrows/ It still says tomorrow? But that was yesterday?
Oh. It was an after midnight @ Amazon update for 'technically' tomorrow.
Nvm, gone is all my relief woops.
I'm just excited for a new shiny game and have been able to talk to people about it, but I know with all the foruming I've been doing I'll lose interest in like 2 weeks and then my grace period between when I play will start already o_o I don't really know if it's right to call it expectations high/low for those of us* who's done waaaay too much research and know what to expect. Many things are better than in SoS though, which is really exciting.
*talking from a personal tone, not a 'lecture-y' tone, if that makes sense.

Pretty much going to have to echo this. I don't normally get too excited for upcoming games until the last one or two days before release, and even then I keep my expectations pretty low. On this game in particular I am taking a lot of my "hype" lead from the importers and expats who have been generously sharing their experiences with the Japanese version since last June. Pretty sure thete are no major mechanical (the way the game plays, how various systems work) surprises coming for me, unless something got broken during the localization process.
Seeing so many people who did spend a lot of money/effort to play the Japanese version get exited with us to play the English version is a good sign, in my opinion. I've only noticed that happening before with exceptionally good games.

S.T.I.L.L. W.A.I.T.I.N.G. for my Amazon copies to ship; I still expect they will arrive on time, but the original estimate was that they'd ship on the 24th.
One friends' copy is actually out for delivery today, and the fact that mine haven't started their journey is driving me kind of bonkers. I live VERY close to one of the distribution centers, so all is probably well...but not being able to stalk the tracking is making me MAD (in the hatter sense....we're not to the anger sense yet LOL).
(ETA: I got curious and googled; I live within ship today, receive tomorrow range of at least three distribution centers. Which makes we wonder why half the time my "2 day guaranteed!" prime packages are 3 or 4 days...)
