Cant get the pig

I'm sure i have shipped over 100 mushrooms by now. I did it in the middle of fall, it is now winter and i go every clear or sunny day to the mushroom island between 10 am and 6 pm and nothing... Just nothing ever happens. I have Chen and Gannon both at 2 hearts. Btw Im in yr 1. What am i doing wrong i dont get it.

Maybe try going to Mushroom Island a little earlier? It might not trigger if Gannon is working.
