Like someone else mentioned, I like to have a "master" wooing file where everyone is ready for confession so I can play through all the events at my leisure. This time around I may not worry about gifting so much except on birthdays, though.
This is pretty much like my wooing method. There is some variation between games, but normally I prepare my cooked and foraged presents either before bed or as soon as I wake. Then after working the farm in the morning, I do all of my gifts and greetings and forage/fish for the next day. I sell anything that I don't need to hoard like a dragon.
Once the bachelors are far enough along, or maybe I want to see different festivals with other bachelors, I create the second save and I use it to explore events until I decide to dedicate it to a specific character.

This is me as well after the first week of farming. I normally plant a -bleep- load of crops, take care of things on my farm, then go into town.
I don't gift everyone; usually I forget about a few characters until I see them ^^' I mainly focus on my future SO. However since we have to have some NPC's at three hearts, I'll probably gift the ones that are easiest. In AP I just carried a bunch of colored herbs with me. Yellow for Reene, Green for Jin and Anissa, purple for Julius, etc. I'll probably do the same for this game if it's possible.

I do that once I've gotten a grip on things in the game.
I'm thinking of resurrecting my AP play style. In that game I took care of my fields, then hurried to get to my job on time, and then did a night shift at the bar. That's at least until I had enough money to buy seeds in bulk. It was field and animal care from then on.
As for bachelors, I'm going to try to take it easy. Have a save file with the main story beat and the bachelors at full fp level. That way I have a start point if I want to remarry. This was my plan for last game. I just get too impatient when I have a favorite and mess it all up.
For question 2 about marriage, I try to raise the hearts of the bachelors equally. I want to see their initial heart events, so I talk to them daily and give them gifts. I like to have all the bachelors unlocked and view their flower events before I make my decision.

Question 2: How do you interact with your story of seasons / hm love interest?
Well this is the first game in a long time that I don't have someone I'm gung-ho for. Inari and Yuzuki are probably my favorites, but I'm not dedicated to them, at least not until I get to know them better and I explore my other options. Normally I talk to them every day and then gift who I'm interested in as much as possible so I can get married quickly and try to make it through the children events without losing interest. However, since I don't know who I'm going for, I'm going to have to take my time and just talk to everyone at first, gift who I can. Just slowly raise AP and FP and try to see all the events I can before dating someone.
Blademaster_Aio wrote:Question 2: How do you interact with your story of seasons / hm love interest?
Normally I'll just interact with them normally as I go through my day, because I have a tendency to be interested in wanderers (like Licorice or Agate in SoS, always in the wild areas) and I don't have to go out of my way to see them. Lillie ofc was totally different, I had to use an extra carrot every day to visit her at 0630 in the stinkin' morning. It takes a long time of organically interacting with the characters for me to decide who to go with, though I normally have a small handful that I like more.
This time my 'handful' is Konami, Siluka, Lisette, & Inari (for 'the lore is perfect' reasons)... and Stephanie...
seeing as breaking up is easier in this game and the max pre-dating flower level prevents marriage within two weeks after dating start, I'm actually very tempted to just date everyone (to see all of their events and raise my town ranks! yes!) and break all their hearts and then re-date whoever my fave was ':D. It would take a lot of effort but at least I wouldn't feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. (Having to decide who my 'main' will be the moment I start dating so that I don't 'lose progress' on my farm by changing my mind).
You know, usually I wait until I have my farm just like I want it before getting married because I'm OCD like that and like to pretend I'm actually supporting my family with a well-oiled farm...but tbh I've never gotten to the point where I gave birth because I always got bored waiting after marriage.
So this time I'm going to prioritize marriage and children and then work on perfecting my farm afterwards so I can actually see the events and what have you.
I'm so excited. The release date needs to be NAOOOOOOOOO

THANK THE GODS! It always drove me insane that some meals lasted like 2 hours. I usually didn't bother to go to town in SoS until 15:00 because of that.
WeirdRG wrote:I usually plant as much as possible and do whatever I can to get animals asap (cause I've always preferred the ranching over farming). Then when I'm low on stamina I'll go socialize.
I prefer the crop aspect way more. I do get my cow and chicken for the cooking part, but I dunno, growing crops just seems something I like more.
Mostly everyone's like 'must earn the money'... I think I'll pick rich as my trait.
Pretty sure my ranching preference is still due to having always made my kid in AnWL a rancher.
As for the marriage question, my first time through I'll wait to really choose til everyone's unlocked and I've seen the friend events. Although I'll probably have a file where I marry Inari even if we never get the dlc that lets them have a kid... Then once I've decided I go into stalker mode

Oh, okay.

Finally. Sometimes I would catch people at a terrible time and I had like no time because I had soooo mich stuff to do... except for my love interest, who I would creepily stand around and wait for.

Yes. Yes it does.

I can't break their hearts... even if they're a bunch of pixels with memory loss issues

Feel free to answer the previous questions if you want.
Question 3: How quickly do you aim to be 'the best' at festivals? And do you take part in festivals even though you might lose?
Not every entry had a 'beginner rank'. And some festivals just were impossible to win the first time they showed up (like crop festivals without seed maker).
Actually in ANB, everyone was mean to you if you lost, like you were this no-good nobody or something. Rude. I never used to take part in those festivals till I knew I could win.
In SoS everyone cheers you on, win or lose, and they acknowledge your hard work. Motivation to always attend.
But actually, I just play normally. I've never aimed for a win in my first year without the tools on hand, and once you get the tools you usually can't lose... except for the fishing contest in SoS which was evil.
There were some games in which the seedmaker came years late (ToTT).

I participate in each festival if I can, even though I'm 100% positive I'll lose several early on. I do it in part for the FP boost that comes naturally from participating, and also to see the extra dialogue that pops up. Around Fall-Winter if not the second year I start winning consistently, but the first year festivals can be fun surprises. Winning the SoS Fishing festival in my first year was AWESOME!
