Question 3: As soon as I can. I always do my best, even if I don't win.

Question 4: I enjoy finding a balance in between form and function. It's something I do in real life. Everything has to have a purpose though. I hate wasted spaces.

Question 4: In SoS I put all the combos on the west side of the farm and concentrated on the look of the east side of the farm. I have to see what the layout of the farm here is like (wanna be surprised, so I haven't checked yet) and then decide on farm circles etc.

Question 5: Are you gonna play Veteran or Seedling mode?

For me, I only played seedling mode in SoS, but I will play veteran mode in my first safe file and then seedling in my second

Question 4: I don't really see the point of decorating my farm. It takes up space that I could use for other things :/ if I really like one then I guess I'll add it.

Question 5: Since the game is supposed to be easier in general this time I'm playing in veteran mode. In SoS I was a seedling and I still didn't "complete" the game. (IMO there was no story line so I use the word complete loosely for SoS)

#2: I go for the slow wooing. I talk to them as I see them. I pretty much try to pretend that this is how an actual person would go about the process. Unless I know off hand who I want (too many options this game!!), then I make a point to say hello every day.

#3: I start trying out the competitions right away. I don't mind if I fail. I know it's all winning after a few years, so I like to hear the loosing conversations.

#4: I barely decorate. It's all about maximization of crop space. The decorations that need to be there for bonuses, I try to squeeze them in as pretty as I can manage.

#5: Last time, I went Seedling. New game, back to Veteran mode.

#5 Probably go with Veteran mode this time around. I have chosen Seedling mode on my previous SoS game because I saw the requirements for unlocking all the vendors. XD

Question #4

I always try to decorate my farm, but it ends up looking like a mess, so I just make it functional instead.

Question #5

I played Seedling in SoS, but I am interested in playing Veteran mode this time around.

#4: My farm is always a mess. I mean to decorate it but they require so many materials and I have better things to do with my in-game time.

#5: I went Seedling last tike but since it looks liie there's no ridiculous shipping requirements, I'll probably do Veteran. SOS' requirements were just ridiculous.

SEEDLING, all the way, for me.

ANB didn't have that option and I did quite well in it and enjoyed it, so I know I CAN do veteran just fine, but...I'm a bit too compulsive in aspects of this game and playing in seedling makes me a little less that way.

But the real reason, for me, is that seedling lets you do twice as much with your stamina. That you only get more stamina as the game goes on, which is when you've probably upgraded your tools and gotten better recipes and ingredients to refuel yourself better (and get the bonuses) and no longer really NEED extra help with stamina has always really bugged me. I want as much stamina as I can get right from the start, and I don't want to waste my 'personality bonus' on that, so...seedling for me, for sure. Now that it's an option, I will likely never choose any other way. It just keeps my various peculiarities more under control.

Feel free to answer any of the previous questions.

Question 4: Considering we could use blueprints / farm circles to make our farm look nice, how did you utilise this? Was the farm beautiful, completely functional or a mix of both?.
Oh gosh I regretted that decision, too. I didn't know when I picked it that the festival would be swayed in their favour. I had to reset until Elise (my competitor for the field) randomly made a non min-max outfit and then the rest were no names.

I tend to go for a mix! By making the first plot laid out in a way that's functional but also very pretty. I had the colourful and mansion barns & coops in the front, and the ponds, and some decorations like the fox & rabbit topiary, lilly box, strawberry shortcake. All the non functional items represented something about me, so they felt symbolic and important >:3 The two advanced maker sheds I considered 'prettiest' and a line of three greenhouses + pet house was also on that side.
Then the other side was everything else all cramshacked together. Literally I pushed everything as manually close to each other as they could go. I had so many farm combos.

The second field in 3oT seems more appropriate to put trees and tea in to me (because it looks just like the old public field!) but I don't know how soon I'll get it dependent on how I play. So because I'm not sure if we can move fields onto different areas than they were sowed (can we?) I'm thinking of having a "path" of flower crops up to my house, bordered in tea and then trees surrounding everywhere. Pretty and lots of crops (that don't need water) !

... that all depends on the lay of the land, though.
(Mobile, pardon any re-corrects I missed)

I'll go with veteran because I always feel slightly guilty playing seedling...like...I don't know xD

I never feel like I've played the game correctly until I've played the harder level.

Blademaster_Aio wrote: Question 3: How quickly do you aim to be 'the best' at festivals? And do you take part in festivals even though you might lose?
If it's just casual festivals, I'll participate just for something to do. If they're competition ones and it's still the beginning of the game I'll skip. I'll have other stuff to do and participating when I know I'm not going to win is usually a waste of time. I guess it isn't a total waste since you get FP from participating in the festivals but I usually would rather make money or something lol

I always intend to do this buuuttttt I usually don't. I make my farm look nice with the stuff that I need, so the barn and fields look nice enough and some roads, but I don't usually play enough to use the farm circles and decorative stuff. I'm hoping I'll play this game long enough where I can get to that though!

Question 5: Seedling. I have too much stuff going on irl where I can't grind. I'd like an easy, casual play through my first time. If I wind up playing again and have a second file, I'll do veteran mode.

Definitely seedling mode. I just want this to be relaxing tbh. I love this series because it's very stress free to me and easy to work it around all the attention my toddler needs and needing sleep for work. When I try to play stuff on veteran mode I get stressed with all the hording.

Q4: I go for functional. I'd love to have an aesthetically pleasing farm, but making sure it's functional and I can get from one barn to another fast is far more important. In terms of decorating the house...
Spoiler:
Personally I like that you buy a set, and you get all the furniture specialized to fit that set. It's a lot easier than making a bunch of things just to put in your house. Easier for me to just do the one and be done.

Q1: I always try to plant everything I can and then go explore/forage. ANB made me into a massive hoarder lol. I'll also go talk to the townsfolk and try to meet everyone. Animals aren't a huge priority in the beginning to me, but when I can get them, I will.

Q2: I'll stalk all the love interests and try to figure out who I like best. Right now I'm leaning towards Ludus, but that could change.

Q3: I participate for the FP, but I don't expect to win much year 1 lol. It's still fun though.

Q4: I'll designate a part of my farm for makers/trees/barns and part to make pretty.

Q5: I played seedling in SoS because of the shipping requirements, but since those are gone, veteran all the way lol.

Seedling, ofc! It's not even a question for me to mull over in my head, I just kind of feel like double stamina and lower prices is objectively better. Gives me flexibility for what personality trait I choose, too.

I'd be more interested in weakling personality than veteran mode if I wanted a challenge.
