Totally veteran. Since they did away with the stupid SOS grind, and I want to make the first playthrough last as long as possible.

I do both, seedling and veteran.

I mean, in SoS with its stock issues, plus unlock requirements seedling was a thing, but at the same time...

I never feel like I've played the game correctly until I've played the harder level.
I have shades of this too. Whyyyyyyy? Life would be easier if I wasn't trying to rise to invisible challenges.

But actually I just play the mode that is more fun for me. I'm going to start with Veteran though.

Veteran cause I think I'll be okay.
I DID start digimon on easy lately, not a pride thing I'm too wore out to try to prove myself with game right now of feel bad for taking the easy way. But at the same time might as well.

The only thing in SoS before I wanted was the vendor lowered but that wasn't lowered enough to make me play seedling lmao.

I've missed a lot in two days. I would do seedling, then veteran when I get used to it.

When it comes to decorating, I mainly just go with the combos that make things easier/more profitable, otherwise I don't really care how my farm looks. After all, in ANB I would just ignore that there was a second screen to put the town stuff in (and who really needs roads anyway? Maybe if I actually manage to go past Y2 without starting over I'll eventually make everything look nice

As for Seedling vs. Veteran, this is probably the only game series I actually enjoy the harder difficulty (likely due to the lack of combat, cause if there was any in this game I'd immediately go Seedling and never touch Veteran). I'll probably go for Seedling after I've got access to the Miracle trait just for extra fun

I...really don't like changing the farm layout too much from the original, so this is a toss up for me. I hate having things all crowded and ugly-looking, though, so I'll probably pour a LOT of hours into making my farm functional yet pretty.

Question 5: Are you gonna play Veteran or Seedling mode?
Veteran! Went for this in SoS to get a feel, and while it's a bit of a grindfest it didn't bother me at all.

I'm not gonna say it anymore after this, but you can still answer or discuss the previous questions.

Question 6: How do you decide your in game birthday? Is it closer to your real one, or do you pick a different one each time?

When I first started Harvest Moon, I picked Fall as my birthday season because I thought it fell in an Autumn month... and then I realised it actually fell in a late summer month... which is winter in other parts of the world.

Anyway, I used to get angry if my birthday clashed with a festival, so I just picked non-festival days for it, and at first I was against summer and winter birthdays because typhoons and snowstorms used to trap you inside.

Well, I'm gonna go with fall / autumn again, because of the bgm. Speaking of bgm, my birthday was never in fall in SoS because I hated the autumn bgm.

I'm not sure what mode I want to play on in this game. I'm think Veteran because I want the game to last a little bit longer than Seedling.

Wall of text, I answered them all

Question 1: What are the first few things you will do when you finally have control of your farm?
CUSTOMIZE!...To the extent I can. I like making ‘plots’ of sorts. A patch for trees, a patch for normal crops, a section for barns and coops. Makes me feel organized, and makes the farm look nice. Once I pick out where I want things to go, get down and dirty and plant those crops! I tend to have a routine: Water and harvest crops, tend animals, go to town and make nice with the locals (gift marriage candidates and characters I like), then fish/mine/forage, come back in time to water the crops again, clear out some rocks and trees, and maybe cook food for the next day, then bed.

Question 2: How do you interact with your story of seasons / hm love interest?
I’ll go give normal gifts, watch some heart events (and finally pick between Ludus or Yuzuki), and when my choice is solid and the farm work is in a rhythm, work on nicer gifts and visit the area more often, maybe do local part time jobs. I always go for reverse confessions and proposals.

Question 3: How quickly do you aim to be 'the best' at festivals? And do you take part in festivals even though you might lose?
I dislike losing festivals, so I look into requirements ahead of time and do my best to win whichever rank I can. (So Beginner for the first year, usually) If it’s not ranked or I think I may lose, I still want the bonus points for attending, even if I may lose. Blast my virtual pride, I really do like winning more.

Question 4 Considering we could use blueprints / farm circles to make our farm look nice, how did you utilize this? Was the farm beautiful, completely functional or a mix of both?
I plan on both, there’s things like the waterwheel in this game, that seems to reduce water use in the paddy fields that is super helpful, but if there’s a nice looking accessory that would blend in, I’m all for it. I like having a farm that isn’t all fields and nothing to look at. The makers this time around (ok, and in the last one) look kinda silly, so I’ll try and arrange them like ‘shops’ or something.

Question 5: Are you gonna play Veteran or Seedling mode?
Seedling. I play to relax, raise cows, and woo cute virtual guys. No need to add in extra stress.

Question 6: How do you decide your in game birthday? Is it closer to your real one, or do you pick a different one each time?
I tend to pick the season with the least festivals, so I can spice it up. If it’s pretty balanced, I go for fall or winter because then I have time to make friends with everyone before the event. I’m actually born in the summer, so I seem to tend to skip that one!

I tend to choose my birthday based on when I think I will have earned enough FP for gifts lol, so usually autumn or winter.

It is closer to my real one basing it with the Japanese seasons. But there are times that I put it in a different month if my chosen RO's birthday falls on the same month in order to space out the celebrations. C:
