Random questions till launch day for fun (about playstyles)
I usually pick late Spring (the 24th in the games you actually get to pick the date) for my first file out of habit from when I'd self-insert as that's the closest to my actual birthday, then in the second file just go with a date later in-game so there's a better chance of getting gifts in the first year (and also make sure whatever day I choose is otherwise free of events

I usually put my in-game birthday around the same general time as my irl birthday. Like my birthday is on the very last day of Spring when it feels like summer anyways, so I just put my game birthday down as Summer 1. I never really think about when I'll get presents because I'll get them next in-game year anyways.

Question 1: I'll most likely try to maintain a balance between seeds planted and how much space I have to do so. When I'm done farming (since in the beginning it's usually very little) I'll go forage and meet-n-greet and then when I'm done making sure I talked to everyone, I go back to the farm and start clearing up stuff. In SOS, I tried to save enough stamina to go swimming so I could get some useful items and I'd just use the rest to clear trees and rocks.
Question 2: I usually just interact with them when I can. I don't really treat them too special, other than the fact that they're probably one of the few that actually gets a gift everyday lol. I like to try and see them at different times of the day just to see new dialogue, though.
Question 3: I hate losing!! I'm so competitive!! I'll reload the game a few time to try and win, but after a few tries I'll... regrettably... let it go. I go to every festival, though. It really switches up routines. : ) I'm a micro manager when it comes to video games, so I start trying to win for everything from the get go. It's gotta be perfect.
Question 4: I really try to make my farm look pretty, but I never quite get it the way I want since practicality tends to be the priority rather than looks. In sos I wanted to use some decoration items, but since it was so hard to continue playing that game I never got to. I really hope that this game keeps my attention so I can actually do all this stuff.
Question 5: Veteran mode. It seems like the only thing it affects this time is money, and that doesn't really matter much to me. It actually would probably just make me play longer, which is what I want.
Question 6: It's always Winter, and Winter 7 when the actual date is chosen. It's based on my birthday and it's good for me since usually by that time I have enough FP to get gifts.

I pick the date of my birthday (20) and the season that it falls in (Winter). Bam!Blademaster_Aio wrote:Question 6: How do you decide your in game birthday? Is it closer to your real one, or do you pick a different one each time?
It does kind of bother me having my birthday so late in the in-game year, though. I've considered Spring before (since early in the year) or maybe even Autumn, since that's my very favourite season...

Man, it needs to be out already. Iwantitnow. But must wait like a grown up.
Question 7: How extravagant are you while gift giving? Do you even gift or just leave all up to contests? Will you change this for the new SoS: ToT?
It isn't a secret some people like expensive or hard to get items, like the infamous mitten crab soup, and every other favourite gift that is a pain to get... and some people just have expensive tastes, liking gems, milk+ maker products and the like.
So how much do you spoil the villagers? I just throw bugs and fish at them, to be honest. Maybe if I'm feeling generous, I'll sacrifice a turnip... but otherwise, I'm stingy. Mine. All mine! The contests raise friendships anyway.
This isn't true on birthdays, when I usually attempt to spoil them by gifting them their favourite.
Considering the insane requirements are gone... maybe I'll... actually no. I will never be generous with produce in the start. It is still miiiiiiiine. When I'm super rich, I'll consider it, but everyone usually loves me by the time I'm super rich. Maybe I'll spoil my favourites this time. But I dunno. I guess it depends on how much I like them.

I usually give expensive gifts to the guy I am pursuing (if any that is) but other than that, I just give them good gifts on the villagers' and the rest of the marriage candidates' birthday. I usually hoard the good stuff. XDBlademaster_Aio wrote:Question 7: How extravagant are you while gift giving? Do you even gift or just leave all up to contests? I generally give the best gifts daily that I possibly can without bankrupting myself. I like to raise FP fast for everyone, even marriage candidates I don't care for. It's a relief when I can stop gifting people daily... shortens my playtime per in game day by a lot.Blademaster_Aio wrote:Man, it needs to be out already. Iwantitnow. But must wait like a grown up.

- Question 4: Considering we could use blueprints / farm circles to make our farm look nice, how did you utilise this? Was the farm beautiful, completely functional or a mix of both?
- Question 5: Are you gonna play Veteran or Seedling mode? - Ophelia11

Question 1: Hoe all the things. Find the limits of my Stamina. Clear Trees/Rocks ASAP. By the way, "finally having control of your farm" happens within the first 30 minutes of gameplay. There's no ANB/SoS-style lengthy tutorial.
Question 2: I try and do everything I can for them. They will always be the person I will talk to and gift every day that it is possible.
Question 3: Immediately. Affection boosts, Brand Increases, and prize pool clearing are majorly important to me. The beginner rank in this game is very easy to win, so everyone should try even though it only awards random prizes.
Question 4: Function > Form, and I'll spend hours playing "Farming Tetris" if I have to, to squeeze in every combo bonus I can get.
Question 5: Veteran. I don't mind a challenge and I'm worried that if I let myself get spoiled with Seedling Mode that I'll never come back to Veteran Mode ever again. Based on my experience with SoS, it is something I need to do once, but only once.
Question 6: I plop it near the end of the year so that I get plenty of presents, usually during a Festival drought so that I don't start losing affection with anybody. Yes, my RL birthday is in Winter, why do you ask?
A good, fun alternative that not many people seem to know about: put it on your spouse's birthday so that you can see the fun exclusive dual celebration events. I usually do this on my Boy File if I make one.
Question 7: For my spouse? Best gift I currently have access to, every day. Everyone else? Favorite gift or highest best gift I currently have on their birthday only. Once I have everyone up past the first heart "hump", I usually rely on Festivals. I think there are too many NPCs in this game to fit in what I normally do, which is to find about 5 commonly shared Liked/Loved items and distribute them along my daily routine's path.

My in game birthday is close to my RL birthday. It's in Summer and I always choose the 13th.Question 6: How do you decide your in game birthday? Is it closer to your real one, or do you pick a different one each time?
I give presents to the bachelor I'm going after and that's usually it. It's cheep gifts that they like.Question 7: How extravagant are you while gift giving? Do you even gift or just leave all up to contests? Will you change this for the new SoS: ToT?
Though this time, since you need to make friends for one of the quests (I think) I'll probably carry around a few more easy gifts that I can toss at people.
