Bamboo sprouts go up in stars by trophy, like maple syrup. They only spawn in the spring.

ETA: Wild foraged ones don't count for that, either. Only ones from bamboo you grow yourself.

Yeah, like with maple trees, growing them in the basement set to spring, they'll make them indefinitely, as far as I know. I had them maxed quickly that way.

At least you can say that winter isn't boring this time around.

Guess who's awesome?

Me!
I may have rushed this game a bit...I completed my dad-advice farming tips by Winter year 1, got married Winter year 1, and now all towns are S-rank on the 15th of Autumn, year 2. Not to mention my child is very close to being born, only 3-4 more days. Still haven't decided if I want a girl or a boy; I might just end up flipping a coin, or shaking an 8-ball to decide, lmao.

Can I just say that for the first time in awhile, I actually look forward to fishing?

Dude, this game has some massive fish. Idk if these two are even King fish or not, they just look really hilarious to be held by the MC. Guess she's stronger than she looks, lol.

I'm raising ray just to see the huge things tbh.
((Actually raising sea horses and star fish because they look cool too. Did you know you can cook/eat sea horses! Not star fish though.))

I'm being a pokey little kitty, nearing year 4 and no where near a child and not to S rank locks yet, yet alone S rank.

The Tuna and Ray are so good. Catching them makes me really happy. I put them both on Miiverse, actually!
They're not the Kingfish of their area, though. Monkfish and Swordfish (Marlin I think it's called?) are the two pier Kingfish. Also giant!!! ofc.

All my towns are at Rank A, with the lock for rank S active, so I have the 'friends with everyone' goals lying around.
I really need to be unlazy and start working on the other requests. Iluka asking me for stuff (well, asking me for even more stuff than usual!) whenever I talk with her is getting kinda grating.

How exactly do the clothing rewards for winning contests work?
Various guides say that in order to obtain a certain item I need to win a festival at a certain difficulty rank x amount of times, but some rewards seem to be shared between tiers.

Does winning the higher ranks also count towards the lower ranks? Will I eventually get all the clothing by just competing in legend every time?
What am I missing here?

Wish I knew the answer to your question, Fishy! :c

I feel like the last one (or among the last) who doesn't know who to marry or even date, still. I've had the game since launch, like a lot of you, and I'm still stuck on that. I usually pick a favorite right away and my instincts are almost never off the mark but despite picking Ludus from the beginning, I didn't enjoy his events much and have a couple hang-ups regarding him, probably the biggest being the Lulukoko Drink Festival glitch you get from marrying him.
The more I play, the harder time I have choosing between Ford, Yuzuki, and now even Hinata, who was second-to-last on my "interested" meter, who has quickly demonstrated himself to be a sweet, optimistic and energetic cutie, who is also very responsible, and I find it all very endearing.

I'm going to try viewing all their confessions and I'm really hoping that helps me decide because if not I may just be a lone-wolf farmer forever, rather than try to pick between them with no strong leanings. I feel in the end I will probably go for Ford, since he was my second choice after Ludus early on, but I saw all his events up to green so early on that it's been a while since I've had any unique interactions with him, making him easier to forget about.

I really do like the line-up of bachelors this time around though.
Last SoS, while they were all pretty, Nadi was the only one that stood out to me. I know that's just my own personal preference, but I really do feel like we have a more diverse and interesting group of guys this time.

Edit: I am in the middle of spring year 2, by the way. By now I thought I'd know who I was going for but I'm still no closer, heh.

If you want a certain festival prize and if the guide says that you need to win something like 3 times to get it, you have to win that class 3 times. The prizes are in order as shown.

Which rewards are shared?

Basically it's just like you said.

Veteran, Expert and Legend have their own prizes you get in a specific order. Winning the legend rank crop or animal contest won't get you veteran or expert level prizes. These are the only two I've tested, because I haven't hit legend in the others.

I think I've gotten prizes from lower levels after I earned all the high-level prizes, though. I believe I got the Gothic Headband (the third Expert-level prize) when I've only competed in Expert twice and have been doing Legend ever since. I might be remembering wrong, though...
