Several days in, I realized I hadn't been watering my crops enough. I just watered them until the soil began to darken, not realizing that I had to keep watering until the MC would automatically stop. >.<

I've been playing as much as possible since Tuesday and I just want to say, I love love love Trio of Towns so far. It has taken out all of the most tedious parts of SoS and added so many more details. I've already grown fond of too many of the bachelorettes and bachelors for just two save files (although Iluka & Inari are still top candidates, I found myself surprised at liking Hinata so much).

My favorite town is Lulukoko... it's just so cheery!

You don't have any soft wood trees on your farm? I think you can also buy lumber from the material store right away, although it's expensive.

Is it sad one of my favorite things in this game is the little yellow chatty face to indicate someone is speaking? I find it terribly cute for some reason :)
Trees grow in two types. Broadleaf give you twigs which turn into small lumber and softwood (which are conical shaped) give you branches that you can turn into lumber. Honestly though, from all your tools, the axe is the absolute worst. Trees take forever to chop. Till you upgrade your axe that is.

I like the smily face also.

One of the shops in Westown north. Of the four shops in the middle of the town, it is the second one from the left.

It took me one game day to figure out that there's softwood trees on your farm. One tree should be more than enough as it gave me 17 branches. However I'm on seedling.
Well I feel dumb now. Thanks for your help guys!

I actually had the opposite problem. I kept trying to overwater my plants because of the dotted lines around the plots. I was so used to SoS's highlighting of stuff that needed to be watered that I thought that's what they were there for.

I do have a question. If you pick the popular personality trait it says the people you initially meet get a boost in friendship. Does that spread into the two other towns or only westown characters?

Charmer: Each person you initially meet will have bonus friendship with you. Marriage candidate will start with a base of 10,000 Friendship Points (1 heart), and each normal villager will have 5000 FP (1 half heart). You can see your friendship levels by using the bookshelf inside your farm house.
I personally love it lol.

Finally got the game today.
Still in the tutorial, but I find it to be a little tedious but that may be because I generally know how to play an HM game lol. The characters are cute so far, I find a lot of their portraits to be different from their official art images.

Also, I picked Charmer and my character's name is Katya.

Thanks for the warning, Shan. xD

That's actually why I wasn't watering them enough, lol. The dotted lines kind of blink in and out, so when they disappeared, I thought I was done.
