Fox gifts?

I decided to try and befriend the foxes in this game (something I haven't done since Tale of Two Towns) but I don't know what gifts to give them. I tried giving it an egg, which they liked in ToTT, but clearly, their preferences have changed since then. What do foxes like?

Yellow foxes love apples. Liked items you can give them are radishes, potatoes, and walnuts
White foxes love carrots. You can also give them sweet potatoes
