Remove fodder?

How do you remove fodder? I killed it with the hoe I think but hitting it with the sickle or anything just saps energy. I can't make the field empty so it has dead fodder in it now.

I know in the previous SoS, you had to hit it with the sickle a lot.
I had hoped they would make that better.

You need to buy a pitchfork from the animal shop in Westown. (Ooops, sorry, thot you meant the poo!)
Re: the fodder: can you sickle it before it's ready to be cut?

I passed out trying to do that. I seriously hope I'm not stuck with fodder in there.

Pitchfork doesn't appear to do anything in the field unless I'm doing it wrong

Just keep sickling it (you can hold A like with watering & other tool use) until it disappears. It does take a fair amount of stamina, though.

Which is why I said "Ooops, thot you meant the poo".
I just sickled mine once to cut it, then it took 2 more swipes to disappear.

Once you unlock farm circles, you might be able to stick the fodder plot in your inventory and take it out clean? That's how it was in ANB, if I remember correctly. But I'm not entirely sure, as I have not tested this theory.

Just tested my mini theory. Activating farm customization and putting the plot into your bag clears the crops growing on it. You get a cleared field ready to till and plant once you take it out of your inventory.

I'm...not a huge fan of this. I wasted SO much stamina trying to get rid of old multi harvest crops and I have to say I'm just... Not sure if I missed something or if this wasn't explained well or what.
So far multi harvest crops seem...underwhelming unless I'm missing something...

Do you really need to edit your farm, grab the plots with the grass, and put it in your inventory to destroy the grass plants? Because I used a sickle, and it fully disappeared after 4-5 swings, no hammer or hoe necessary.

4-5 swings is so much energy I guess if that works for you ((IDK if I did 3 or 4 swings on one so IDK about the # personally)) you don't have to but I wouldn't waste that much energy on it personally?

Has anyone tried using the hammer?

I did; all it does is essentially "wilt" or wither the plant after 5+ swings or so, (plant looks brown and crippled) then you can use a sickle on the wilted grass plant 4-5 times to destroy it. I think using the sickle is the fastest method though.
